Review: Carrion Tree Svc

They performed some tree service and I paid for the service and some additional work they said they would comlete. Never saw them again. Took the money and ran. Won't respond to phone calls. Sorry bunch ....

This company is totally unreliable! The owner showed up with a small child and let him run around which made me feel very uncomfortable as I was afraid the Boy would get hurt! The owner assured me that and I quote : Don'ty worry, I have insurance if he gets hurt! After the quote he never came back! This tells me he is after the money and sacrifices safety for others!

I noticed that in all of the advertising that Carrion Tree svc does that they claim to be fully insured. That being said, I know of at least two of their ex-employees who have been badly injured on the job, had to be out of work for months, only to find out that they were not covered by workmans comp insurance and that they no longer had a job. Mr. Carrion, I wonder if the homeowners who hire you are aware of the potential liability you bring to them when you step foot on to their property.

Thank you for your concern and question. In the state of North Carolina if you have less than 3 employees you dont have to carry workmans comp. Thats why I have sub contractors that work and I give them a 1099 at the end of the year and not a w2 form. Each sub contractor is responsible for there own insurance as a 1099 sub contractor and they are all aware of that. Some sub contractors elect to not pay there insurance bill therfore making there policy to be cancelled. And then my Insurance covers the home or property and also the individual homeowner. Yes - very similar to my experience. Except they had done a few jobs for me already. I always paid cash - no dickering - just paid them what they asked. The last job I had to go out of town so I paid in advance. They probably pulled off the job the moment I was out of site. First they gave excuses, then stopped responding. I had to get a lawyer to threaten legal action to get them to refund the money. It cost me more in legal fees - but it's a matter of principle. If you pay someone what they ask for work, provide thousands in work - and they screw you - it is just not right. I've heard from two other people in Franklin that were treated similarly. How will this guy stay in business screwing good reliable customers? Caveat Emptor!

Whoa, whoa, whoa!!! Maybe many of you do not know how to conduct business! Sorry, but I am straightforward. I met and engaged Carrion Tree service and Manny Carrion one day to clear more than a dozen trees, some actually threatening my house. His team came out and eradicated the trees in a New York minute. Not only were the trees gone, but everything was safe and cleaned up appropriately. Are you kidding me, he gave me a price, we beat it up a little and they went about their business. I would not even think about hiring another company in Franklin. Manny has the best of equipment and he does not mess around when he gets on the job site......this guy is all business. When that monster tree falls safely, and he yells "that's what I do baby", you get the feeling you are in good hands.

I honestly believe that many people do not truly understand what it takes to remove a tree and that's the problem - Manny and his team make it look easy..........that doesn't mean it should be any cheaper. When doing business with anyone, you should know what you are dealing with ahead of time - set economic expectations, timeframes and total scope of services. I promise, when you do that with Manny you will get exactly (and More) than what you bargained for.

As for having a young child around, you exerperienced what you experienced. However, for me what I experienced was an excellent crew (I mean top notch), Manny himself, and on one day a beautiful young child that was never in harms way. Look, Manny is a family man, long before a Lumberjack, so don't be ridiculous, he would never put a family member at risk.

Now, if you take the time to engage a professional contractor the right way, you will find Carrion to be top of the line - hey, bro, they are not cheap, but I gotta tell you they are cheaper than that poplar or jack pine falling into your living room. Carrion has ALL of my tree service on my beautiful 15 acres forever.

I initally hired Carrion because of a strong recommendation from a Franklin Realtor, they know who to work with and I can tell you, you will make the right decision. Let me know if you have any questions, cause I will tell you how I handled it and how Manny, like the real lumberjack he is, addressed my concerns. There is only one real tree service in Franklin, NC.

By the way. The Carrion's live right in Franklin, they ain't running from anyone. They are a beautiful family that is trying to make a living the old fashioned way......one tree at a time. They are top notch all the way!

Disgruntled employee, you are a joke. Probably a product of an Obama Vote a few short years ago. Get a grip. When I asked Manny to do work at my house, he and his work group were a hoot. Although they were in the midst of a very difficult job, they continued to keep things cool and make sure I was comfortable with their work, however they made it a lot of fun -- constantly joking with one another. You are probably pissed because you just can't figure out the whole business ownership thing. You cut down a tree or two, get drunk, spend every dime and then blame the fact that you are broke on your employer. At least Manny is out there taking the risk to run a business, market to buyers and actually live the American dream. I wish I had another tree for him and his wonderful crew to come cut down. Trust me when I tell you, you won't find another crew like Carrion.

I'm a Arborist twenty plus years off safe climb history. I've worked with Carrion Tree several years. We've had our differences and trials,But we have always tried to the very best job possible no matter what the situation or circumstances,or weather! All business is about economics,and we all work very hard for what we earn,in a very competitive industry.I have respect for Carrion Tree Service and will always side with Right over wrong. I could work for many companies and make great money almost anywhere,but I have choosen to work with Carrion Tree because I take great pride in doing the Best job possible and so does Emmanuel Carrion! I'm back doing what I love again in the broadcast industry,working on Broadcast Towers thruout the world,but if I ever return to Trees it will be for Carrion Tree. God Bless all there for your best wishes! The mountains will always be the place for me!
