Better yet, they managed I hope to get another gun out of the hands of a child. Shame on you don bee for looking at a child going to jail as a opition instead of addressing the real problem of a out of control society that is full of guns and armed with ammo to the tooh and nail. They need to regulate the ammo for military and law enforcement only. I pray that they raise the price of ammo so high that only the rich can afford it kind of like lobsters.

Before someone who shall remain nameless goes on a racist anti-gun rant, let me say this: Have you ever seen a gun jump up and shoot someone without a little help?

The thug in question, John Pernell Mason, Jr., chose his own path. It's not society's fault that he chose to illegally pick up a gun to commit several felonies. Nor is it the gun's fault. And you can rest assured that "us whites" didn't make him do it either. The only person to place blame on is John Pernell Mason, Jr. No one else.

The article says:
"John Pernell Mason Jr., 22, is charged with armed robbery, malicious wounding, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and the use of a firearm in commission of a felony."

From that I gather Mr. Mason is no stranger felonious acts, and bad choices in life. I see no reason why this should impact the gun rights of responsible citizens. I wish Mr. Mason well in his chosen career (this is in fact a career choice) as cell-bride to Big Manny, or some other suitably large and violent individual.

When I was growing up back in Missouri they used to take us on a field trip to the jail. Scared the crap out of me and strongly influenced my later decisions. Don't they do that around here?

The ones selling illegal guns that your gun dealers sold to him. It is a chain of command and it always is going to come back to you gun owners.

Yes, right on! We need to put a lid on the easy access to all these guns.

You gun people need to stop being such cowards and learn to defend yourself without having to walk around like cowboys.

Guns are not the answer! Education, community centers, villages raising children, and President-Elect Obama are positive solutions to the problems we face.

Gun "Owners" are not the problem, they are educated about firearm safety and have obtained their gun through the proper channels. Its the gangster "Gun Toters" who are the problems. They only carry a weapon for one reason. Dont get the 2 confused. People kill people....not guns.

Once again I'll state I've owned, shot and lived around gun my whole life.Never once has anyone of my family and friends evr pulled a gun on anyone. The first thing ever gun has to have is responsiblity. That's knowing a gun is not a toy ,double checking surrounding before you take the shot and teaching your children the same values. The second is respect.Respecting the power of the weapon and knowing when to use it.So basicly if you have no sense of respect or responsibility you shouldn't own a gun.And one more thing to all you anti-gun socialist out there more people die every year in car accidents than by guns.So ban cars before you ban guns. And gun ownership is a right where as driving is a privaledge.

HG, in your list of things we need, you failed to mention parents, instead choosing a "Hillary" village. Our problems are directly related to our lack of parenting and role models. With Daddy missing and Mom making more babies, how do these kids get any lessons in life except from others just like them in the hood, or by watching MTV?

I raised my son right. The only village we had was the big stick in my hand. HG was not allowed to go to commuinity centers because even then they were dens of iniquity.
