DA Endorses Online Threat

The Office of the Northwestern District Attorney, in Northampton, Massachusetts, has effectively endorsed an online threat to commit murder. The threat, including its exact location and all other relevant information, was submitted to the DA's office. They have decided to do nothing about it, which is exactly the same as tacitly endorsing the threat. According to the DA's view, it's okay to threaten someone with murder because law enforcement won't intervene. The threat is clear and direct. It unambiguously refers to a specific person.
Does the person who posted the threat have weapons? Is he or she on probation or parole? Does this person have a prior history of violent behavior?
Obviously, the Office of the Northwestern District Attorney has learned nothing from Newtown.
