Mineral County Historical Sites

After looking around the county for some time, it sure seems that many historical sites have been pilfered, vandalized and left behind.
Anyone out there have any information to fill in the gaps of what's left out there?
For instance, how long ago was there next to nothing left at Marietta? What happened to the Chinese graveyard in Hawthorne? Likewise, the Belleville Chinese cemetery?
Why are there so few structures still standing out there? Were they all used for firewood or were the buildings moved to other mining towns/camps?
There just seems to more that is NOT out there than there is left for this and future generations to enjoy and explore.
Should there be a law against taking artifacts from these historical sites? Would that inhibit the continuing "taking away" of the county's history?
