So When are the city officials going to take action
against all the abandoned cars left on lots,
trashy homes that could use some cleaning up of their properties ???
Let the elected officials it's time to exert their
authority and clean this town up.
Who the hell wants to move to a town that looks like a dump, secondly this is the County Seat and it should serve as a model for other county cities instead it looks even worst than their smaller communities, Comon let's clean Hawthorne UP!!!
Let the Elected Officials Know You Want Action,
They weren't elected to office to chew the fat and not do anything, It's time to give officials that are in my opinion not worth the powder to blow to hell and back the boot out of office Now!!!
Elect someone who promises to take action to get Hawthorne Cleaned up Now, Not Tomorrow, Talk is cheap !!

Dear Readers:
My wife and I will be new members of the community the first week of October insofar as I will be working at the High School. We look forward to living in our new home town but we did notice the fact that there were more than a few apparently abandoned cars.
I would encourage the proper authorities to take appropriate action to clean up any waste whether it is an old auto or bags of household trash. Hawthorne is a beautiful example of what a small town should be; we all need to be aware of our surroundings and take the care that is needed to maintain the warm character of our "home town."

I was born in the wonderful town of Hawthorne in 1951.When I was a little boy I lived with my Grandparents on C st.,I remember all the good times I had, playing in abandoned cars and discarded refrigerators. Playing "Hide and Seek" in stacks of empty ammunition boxes. What a wonderful playground! You could make a few cents picking up empty pop bottles and takeing them to Joseph's Market! They were thrown everywhere! What a wonderful place to grow up!

What my point is; it is hard to change bad habits that have existed for years and years!

I have been away from Hawthorne for over 35 years, I live in Alaska now, but I would like to return to Hawthorne when I retire! I hope it is cleaned up some when I come back home!

The alleys in Hawthorne are trashed. Broken glass (mostly beer bottles) reigns supreme. Its disgusting. The ironic thing is, all the alleys have blue trash bins in the back of homes and can easiliy be used by the beer drinkers when they empty the bottles.

Donny York, how u doing? I think old Joseph's closed up some time back, might be wrong. But Safeway did not help out old Joseph when thay moved from Babbit.

Funny proper authorities to take appropriate action you say?

Billy Bruni and wife your in for the time of your life. "The High School that is".

Really abandoned cars you say? The local police puts CCTV cameras in em old junk rust heaps. Best thing the county ever came up with. So the county recorder says.

So next time you drive or walk by one, smile at the "Red Eye".

It's called "Home Land" at work u know.

I also was born in Hawthorne, and lived there again for a few months back in 2004. I worked at the El Capitan, I had a labor dispute with them, and the state of Nevada ruled in my favor; therefore, the El Cap had to pay me out$$$$$$$. Then I moved back to Hawthorne about a year later, well, we were nearly run out of town by the uneducated dumb hicks. See, I went against the locals and got the state involved. That didn't go over too well. Hawthorne people are undereducated people and lack any knowledge of culture and state labor ethics, but will stick together. Sadly, a terrible town. I only lived there until I was 7.

What did the El Cap do to you. I lived in Hawthore in 04 myself. I went to the El Cap many times because it was the only "game" in town. I never won shit in that place but the people who worked there seemed alright. I heard some employees who didn't like working there. I just assumed they didn't like their job. Did you get injured or something?
