I've ordered pizza from venutos because it is one of the few places that has whole wheat crust. I thought the pizza was good and plan on ordering it again tonight.

Venuto’s Old World Pizza has hit the trifecta: Slow delivery times (over an hour), cold pizza wrong pizza and rude and unapologetic staff.
Yesterday we decided to use a credit for free pizza we got a few weeks ago (when our pizza was undercooked, not sliced, late and cold). I placed our order and was told it would be delivered in 35 to 45 minutes. When we called an hour later to see where our pizza was, we were told our order did not exist. When we asked to speak to the manager we were put on hold for 15 minutes, after hanging up and calling back 4 more times we were on the phone with the assistant manager who told us the manager was "too busy" to talk on the phone. This is the last straw. I used the e-mail form on the Venuto’s website to complain. I doubt anything will come of it. Perhaps the Venuto family should have stayed with selling those stand-up tanning booth franchises. Changing tanning bulbs is easy; proper handling of food and cleanliness takes constant work and training -something they are not willing to do anytime soon. They do not care about their customers; I'll take my money elsewhere. The people that work there are rude and have no personality. They could care less if you are there or not. The service is extremely slow and the prices are high. They definitely need to work on their customer service. Thumbs down on Venuto’s Old World Pizza! The staff at Venuto's is lacking supervision and proper training. The store management is of poor grade. When the company doesn't give upset customers some assurance that the problem won't happen again, they are putting repeat business, profits and growth at risk. Every business can expect complaints from customers. It's how a business handles the complaints that matters most, and some do so poorly. |

I guess that Venuto's has borrowed more money than its declining sales and rising food and labor costs permit it to repay. It will probably join its brethren in taking the hit for a lousy economy that's likely to get worse.
They're probably paying some guy millions to figure out why they're going out of business, but I'll say why for free: "Venuto's who?" |

I had had Venuto's pizza 3 times last month (9/08) and absolutely loved it. I now see there were awful reviews, and that is too bad. My husband and I picked it up and thought it was awesome. Have they closed their doors, because when we call their number, no one answers?

Have been going to the blackwood store now for about 2 months. Food is great and this store seems to be run the right way. The staff is very friendly and knows what they are doing. Wish all the Venuto's were the same.

The stores in Oaklyn and Cherry Hill appear to have closed. And for good reason..I know my pizza and Venuto's is by far, the WORST pie I've ever had. The toppings were pitiful and the gravy/sauce tastes like canned chef boyardee stuff. Not to mention that you wait at least an hour for delivery...and they were NEVER that busy.

Absolutely horrible everything!!! Had one bad pizza, and as I left, I wondered "how long will it last?" It did for about 3 months, and joined the great poor service/bad food junkyard in the sky.
NEVER buy anithing there. The pizza actually smelled bad. |

Yea they closed down one day without any warning and left us jobless cause people like this where giving us bad reviews. i loved working there; the pizza was great and the co-workers where great but we closed in most park cause of there HIGH prices foods. |

Hey i just wanna let you know that your comment is complete BULLSHIT. Our delivery driver would Never do that. the so called delivery driver you are talkin about was a FORMER employee that was fired and posibly was outside eating in his car. so dont get mad cause of wat a custumer did. |

For the record of all of you who think you know what happened to Venutos and why they are closing locations..here is the accurate information. Upon the death of its founder, Ralph Venuto, the Venuto family opted NOT to continue operating in the pizza business. The entire VENUTOS chain is up for sale and there are several franchisors looking to acquire various locations. Their reasons for closing are not primarily economic, nor because some people found fault with particular aspects of service and specified locations. It was a family decision. Period.
