I bet you guys would not be saying this if she was White. yeah just because shes Latino, she gets a double standard.

yeah, therefore I will recommend that you think of her a white person, yeah it feels different right.

Shame on the Military, thanks god I didn't join them, the state department offers better benefits.

Same on you, and please feel sad for the family. think about the family, its hard losing your family member, and you guys are talking about rainy day funds, sad. I will donate ($1,000) money to the fund to help the family.

Your comment reminds me of my own husband's death. I was working at American Honda HQ - had been for four years - when my husband dropped dead on Holy Thursday of 2006. I had to take four days off to handle everything. When I returned to work the Friday of the following week I was told I could not use my PTO for those four days because I didn't request the time-off two weeks in advance. Yea Honda!!!

Our military families should never have to face these kind of problems especially with our government paying out millions and millions of dollars for other countries and their problems. America feeds other countries poor yet America has poor of its own.

Let's clean-up our own back yard before we pay to clean-up other countries back yards or problems. When will this country start treating our people right???

So.....if something comes up and I need to max out my credit cards, I should call the Daily Breeze, have them run an article about me, and rely on John Q. Public to help me pay off my cards?
If you are looking to point a finger, look at whoever on the husband's side is adamant about having the funeral take place in South Dakota. If it's that important to them, let them foot the bill. Otherwise, have the funeral in LA.

I am a family member on Josh's side. Josh is Duvi's husband. I would just like to say that nobody can ever possibly be prepared for things like this. There is so much more to this story. The military has done an excellent job supporting the families of Duvi and the other fallen soldiers. The President paying tribute to Duvi and the other fallen soldiers was a great honor and a blessing. He helped ease the pain a little. The airport did provide Josh with a motel room and everything he needed during a layover when he intended to sleep in the lobby. Now is not the time to lay blame... Now is the time to take action. Thanks to all of you who have left kind words the support we have been receiving is beyond amazing.

US government should have the courtesy to pay for it. Plane tickets for the family and a hotel room. That's the least for laying down your life.

Just for clarification: Duvi leaves behind her husband and two small children. Your donations will be sent directly to the husband at a later date. This is not just for travel expenses for Duvi's relatives. We will be sending the correct info to the Daily Breeze on Monday.

In this world of instant gratification and impersonal communication through the internet, we sometimes are quick to judge before we have all the facts and we sometimes forget that there are real people on the other end reading those words that we so hastily posted. Those readers may even be family members of Sgt. Wolf.

Understandingly there are so many scams out there people would be quick to think twice about donating, however, the family members are not looking for any financial gain. They only want to lay their fallen to rest, as any of us would.

To all you cynics, remember this. Although Sgt. Wolf, and so many other service members before her, may have joined the military for any number of reasons but in the end they all died protecting our rights, one of which is freedom of speech. Unfortunately there is nothing in the Constitution or Bill of Rights that says what you speak has to be intelligent. You know what they say about opinions, good or bad…

Mr. Altman,
Never feel regret about trying to do the right thing and voicing your opinion, for that would only diminish the sacrifice all those service members have made. Thank you for your assistance and thank you Hawthorne PD.

I personally knew Duvi and to hear all of you that have posted unkind comments about this article should really keep your comments to yourselves. This is a time for mourning not for you to go on with your rants about what you feel the government should do. What is done is done there is no use in pointing fingers because sadly Duvi is gone and she will be deeply missed.

Think before you talk because we are discussing a tragedy. Duvi leaves behind a husband, two girls and other friends and family members. Please understand that not everyone is looking for a way to get out of paying things. If help is available and people are willing to help it is appreciated. Not everyone has a good paying job where $4,000 is like pocket change.

Duvi we miss you, I know God will have you in his glory and you will be looking down on all of us especially your family. Thank you for making all of us so very proud of you.
