if the gov.can give clemency to a man serving 15 yrs. for manufacturing meth why doesnt he give it to a man serving 10 yrs.on a 70% its just not right. i am the mother of jeff dutton,he serving 70%of a ten year sentence. why cant the 70% law take affect for all the ones serving time now. that law is no longer in affect. NOTHING RIGHT ABOUT IT

if you have never had anyone in prison, dont mouth off until you have walked in there shoes, yes drug dealers are still human and humans make mistakes

This is my father we're talking about. What hasn't been publicized is that he is 58 yrs old and this is a first time offense for anything. I mean nothing more than a speeding ticket. A man that was a prosperous leader in the community. A wonderful daddy that raised me as an only child even after his wife/my mother passed away from brain cancer when I was only 11. Now, I have 2 daughters ages 6 & 8 that need to know their only living grandfather the way I did. If you've never made a mistake in your life, I commend you; because I've never met anyone that hasn't.

People do make mistakes that I agree on. However, laws are laws and if someone breaks one they get punished for their crime. To pardon a drug dealer/maker sends the wrong signal to every other drug dealer/manufacturer. Why not pardon those who take drugs since their only crime was to partake of them. Drug dealers are worse than those who take them.
And your dad should have known better considering his age. I have no sympathy for him.

Pay no attention to Rojopa, what does she no anyway. If it was her Father,Son or Brother she would feel different, and yes laws are laws but when a person is serving more time for drugs/manufacturer than a murderer or someone raping baby, then there is a real problem; something is really wrong. And quiet frankly drug/manufacturer dealers don't hold a gun to your head and make you take them. All i can say is i hope Rojopa never has to go through what we do with having a SON/FATHER in prison
