How fitting the PT puts "Fiddy Cent" on blast in their paper right after a gang member kills a high school student. The fact that they'd show pictures of little girls, who are buying his new album with such titles as "Crime Wave," that include the lyrics "I gotta itchy, itchy, itchy, itchy trigger finger *iggger.... I do away with *igggers...." etc. Oh, let's listen to "Get it Hot..." the lyrics are "I'm a substitute teacher, Welcome to Sex Ed. She be a "A" student, time she git outta MY bed..." Nice image for teen girls... Ya'll git de idea. Don't forget to listen to "Psycho." That's really an inspiring motif for aspiring black gang psychopaths, as a gang member apparently on crack describes the many ways to kill somebody. Any parent who let's their teenager listen to that ghetto gutter trash deserves to be put into the system. Philip Zonkel... just wondering... how are you NOT a lowlife to perpetuate this insidious lowlife cheerleader for gang culture, PARTICULARLY right after a teen girl got SHOT by a GANG MEMBER who probably has a significant "Fiddy Cent" CD collection? That goes for the PT editor's too. How can you allow the free advertising of a purveyor of what amounts to psycho porn? Because he's a millionaire? Would you cover a porn actor signing DVD's of his video to teenagers, and hype his new perfume fragrance? How is Fiddy Cent any different, except a teen following a porn star's example might get VD, while a teen following Fiddy Cents rantings may wind up shooting a teen girl dead?? To Philip Zonkel, and the Editor's of the Press Telegram: HOW do you SLEEP at night???

The PT must have a soft place in it's heart for historic greats like Bo Jangles, and the late great Steppin' Fetchit. But to so many of our youth, Fitty is just like Sammy Davis Jr., if Sammy had been hit in the head with a brick, many many many times. And then gang raped and left for dead in the LA river. And then hit by a boat. Then raped by some sewer dolphins. And a sea turtle. Then arrested for littering. And tazed for resisting arrest. And then hit with a brick again. That's our Fitty.

However, your ranting sounds like the ranting against Marilyn Manson after the Colombine massacre. Somehows celebrities are more to blame than parents. You can't censor free speech. Do you know that the suspects who killed Melody Ross listen to 50 Cent the night of. DO YOU KNOW?

As long as people continue to buy excrement put out by these gang banger lowlifes, we will continue to watch our community suffer and our kids die. These thugs don't give a damn about us or our kids. All they care about is rakin' in the Benjamins. Stop buying what they're selling (rap cd's, cologne, clothes, jewelry, CRACK.) and they will move on. Money (or lack there of..) is a great motivator. I agree w/ LKWD, boycott Macy's and all other store that sells Fifty's (and that is how it is pronounced, btw) music, stench, and anything else he endorses. Then, take it further, don't buy any product endorsed by anyone who promotes the gang life style. As long as we feed these vermin, they will remain. Cut off they're support, and they'll go away. It's simple Economics.

I have a problem believing that a decades old dept store like Macy's would allow this piece of scum to even walk through the door, much less promote him.

Uhhh if you didnt read this article is about 50 cent promoting his fragrance...I listen to rap music and hip hop but that doesn't make me a bad person. Yeah his lyrics are inappropriate but thats why his cds have parental advisory on it. Maybe parents should stop looking to celebrities to be their kids' role models and be one themselves

Rapper 50 Cent promoting a perfume? At Macy's? At a suburban mall? That just seems wrong, on so many levels.

But if they are promoting the gang life style, which includes senseless killings, they have to accept some of the responsibility for the success of what they are promoting.

Wow, what reactions, does anybody out there understand that 50 aka Curtis Jackson, is a very generous man who donates tons of money to charities? Does he have anything to do with poor Melody? Not at all. Yes, he may have songs that some of you don't like, but we do have freedom of speech and we live in this beautiful country. There is NOTHING wrong with Macys working with him on his new fragrance. All of you complaining, might want to just try it out. Give the man a break, just because he is making money, doesn't mean you should all bag on him. Sorry, you didn't think of it first. He works hard. I didn't see him promoting any gang lifestyle last night. Clean cut, looks better than a lot of people I know.

From an April 2003 Rolling Stone story: Violence has been a constant in the life of twenty-six-year-old 50 Cent -- government name Curtis Jackson, nickname Boo-Boo. His mother, a drug dealer, was killed when he was eight. At twelve, he became a dealer, and was nearly shot to death at twenty-four. His first hip-hop mentor, Jam Master Jay, was killed execution-style last year. Just four days before this very evening, an empty SUV owned by Busta Rhymes was hit with six bullets while parked in front of 50 Cent's manager's office.
