Baca gives update on Hawaiian Gardens gang injunction

Sheriff Lee Baca announced the removal of seven people from a gang injunction targeting Hawaiian Gardens' oldest street gang and said his goal, and goal of his department, is to one day see no names on the injunction list.

Why would a pastor be advocating for gangs in his community? It seems to me he should be trying to help them get out of gangs into a better life.
Remember, all of the good citizens of HG claim their gang member kids are not really gang members at all but are candidates for sainthood.

Simply, it is a court order to cease and desist. Like when a woman files an injunction against an abusive husband. It requires him to stay away from her or go to jail.
If the person is proven not to be a gang member he is removed from the injunction.
In this case if a person is a known gang member, he is not allowed to be in the community and can be sent to jail. LA does the same thing periodically.

Probably because he is getting a kick back from the gang to support his "church".

You all have it wrong, people that are not gang members are being wrongly served on the gang injunction. You get served just by your looks, if you have short hair, or if you wear a long shirt, or if you are seen talking to a gang member even though you are not one, you can get served on the Gang Injunction. Once you get served you cannot talk to someone on the gang injunction (you don't know who is or isn't on it so you could get easily arrested), or ride a bike (which is ridiculous, it's considered gang activity)if you are under 18 you can be arrested if you are out after 8 PM & if you are an adult you get arrested after 10 PM. The pastor is helping those that were wrongly served, not gang members, he would never defend a gang member. I know him & I have been in the meetings w/Baca & have heard many of the complaints. Many of them are people I know who are getting physically abused & wrongly served. A young 15 year old girl who was not a gang member had her jaw broken & threated if she reported it as well as many males. The city of Orange is also having this same problem & is asking for our help in a Police protest on 10/22. You should get your facts before judging people, they are normal people just like you but because they live in a city where an officer was killed they are being wrongly treated. I agree the gang members should be the ones served on this injunction but this story w/the pastor is all about the good innocent people that were wrongly served & going to jail for not ever committing any crimes, most are in there for just talking to somebody.

The reason Barry and Terryl Bruce oppose the gang injunction is because they support and defend gang members in Hawaiian Gardens...and that's the truth. Don't believe me?
Here's why Barry Bruce, candidate for city council, should not be voted in:
They oppose the gang injunction despite the stark drop in crime
They support gang members going to trial - gang member convicted of a hate crime assault with a deadly weapon, Bruce agreed to be a "character" witness for the defendant.
He went to court on behalf of a convicted felon gang member who was on parole.
Terryl went to court for a gang member with "Hawaiian Gardens" tattooed across his chest after he was arrested for being under the influence and yelling "Fuck Jerry Ortiz" while in the street.
They support a gangster mother on Section 8 whose father of her children is a gang member, and whose two children are gang members one of which is in custody for a hate crime robbery against a black minor.
They support racist gang members who say the "N" word while at city hall and do nothing about it.
They will bully people at every turn pushing video cameras into their faces soliciting lies and false complaints against the police.
They have their thugs trap a mother and daughter in a bathroom while they yell and threaten the mother and child to shut up and not speak against the Bruce's and their ministry.
Their daughter is dating a gang member who has, in the past, spray painted the gang graffiti all over the city.
Barry Bruce claims he wants to fire the police in Hawaiian Gardens and replace it with a corrupt police dept.
His friend, Cathy Navejas, was recalled when she was a Hawaiian Gardens council member because of corruption.
Cathy Navejas son, a gang member, has been to prison and is in jail for having a gun.
That's the truth about Barry and Terryl Bruce.
