Renowned Liberal Law Professor: Obama the President Nixon Always Wanted to be
June 4, 2014

Respected liberal professor and constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley, an admitted supporter of many of Obama’s policies who has also been a sharp critic of Obama’s continual abuse of power and unconstitutional actions, compared Obama to another disgraced U.S. president, Richard Nixon.

Appearing on FOX News’ Hannity on Tuesday, Turley discussed with Sean Hannity Obama’s latest criminal activity, breaking a law he signed requiring him to notify Congress thirty days prior to the release of GITMO terrorists, Turley told Hannity,

“Barack Obama is really the president Richard Nixon always wanted to be.”

Obama is less competent than George Bush, say a plurality of Americans
06/05/14

With President Obama's approval rating still deep underwater, a new survey from Fox News finds that Americans generally think George W. Bush ran a more "competent" administration.

In the survey, a 48 percent plurality said Bush's White House was more competent, while 42 percent picked Obama's.

[From Normandy on the 70th anniversary of the beginning of Europe's liberation from Hitler by real American heroes, Susan Rice, President Barack Hussein Obama's national security adviser, says a deserter in Afghanistan served with "honor and distinction."]

Susan Rice defends Bergdahl comments, calls his service 'honorable'
June 6, 2014

President Barack Obama's national security adviser said Friday that her full-throated praise of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was appropriate given the former Taliban prisoner's willingness to go to war for his country -- despite questions about whether or not he deserted his Army colleagues.

Susan Rice, who on Sunday said Bergdahl served the United States with "honor and distinction," told CNN in an interview that she was speaking about the fact the Idaho native enlisted and went to Afghanistan in the service of his country.

A D-Day Veteran Politely Declines Obama Invitation
June 6, 2014
...
This week, George received a call from the White House, who said they knew he would be over in France during D-Day, and wondered if he would attend a private meeting the White House was arranging for veterans with President Obama.

George thought about it for awhile and concluded he just couldn’t.“I have so many issues with the president’s policies, including the most recent ones,” he told me ruefully.“I just couldn’t convince myself to do it.”

He is not alone. The recent Bergdahl prisoner swap in which five hardened Taliban terrorists were released from prison is rubbing a lot of the military veterans attending D-Day events the wrong way.

“It’s not that we don’t want to respect the commander-in-chief,” one told me sadly.“It’s just that he makes it so hard to do so.”

Americans think President Obama is a weaker leader than George W. Bush, according to a new poll.

And it's not because they forgot how much they disliked Bush. It's always been that way -- even if people didn't realize it.

Poll: Obama administration less competent than Bush’s or Clinton’s, more say
June 4

A majority of voters say the Obama administration is less competent than Bill Clinton's and a plurality say it is less competent than George W. Bush's according to a new Fox News poll released Wednesday.

Sixty-eight percent say the Obama administration is less competent that the Clinton administration.

Forty-eight percent say it is less competent than Bush's, compared to 42 percent who say it is more competent. Seven percent judge Obama's and Bush's the same.

Fifty-five percent say that the Obama administration has made the country weaker; 35 percent say his administration has made it stronger.

The poll was conducted June 1-3 by the Democratic Anderson Robbins Research and the Republican Shaw & Company Research.

Americans are starting to doubt President Obama is a good boss
June 3
...So when the once-uber-unpopular Bush polled higher than Obama on competency, we thought maybe -- just maybe -- that Americans were viewing the 43rd president through a rose-colored rearview mirror.

As it turns out, they have been pretty consistent. They have long viewed competency and "getting things done" as more of a Bush thing than an Obama thing.
...
Obama's competency has long polled slightly higher than his overall approval rating --until last year. And other recent polls show people's views of Obama as a manager of government are right around his overall approval rating.

Not so for Bush.

A look at Bush's presidency shows that Americans consistently rated his competency significantly higher than his overall job performance. I.e. they might not have liked what he was doing, but they still saw him as capable of getting what he wanted, when he wanted it.

Obama fails to show his vaunted ‘competence’
May 25, 2014

Obama came to the White House with a carefully cultivated image for almost preternatural competence — an image no one esteemed more highly than he did.

“I’m a better speechwriter than my speechwriters,” he had told his campaign staff.“I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I’ll tell you right now that ... I’m a better political director than my political director.”

He may still believe it, but most Americans no longer do.

When respondents in a CNN/ORC poll this spring were asked once again about the president’s ability to “manage the government effectively,” a solid majority — 57 percent — said that description does not apply to Obama.

Other surveys get similar results. In four Quinnipiac University polls taken since November 2013, respondents have been asked:“Do you think that in general the Obama administration has been competent in running the government?”

Each time, a majority has said no.

Asked whether the president is “paying attention to what his administration is doing,” only 45 percent say he is.

None of those polls reflects recent coverage of the VA; presumably the numbers would be even harsher if they did.

Pennsylvania is not destroyed, however he has hurt the state.
Let me start with his strikes at the middle class and working poor. By doubling the cost of registrations for vehicles, drivers license, etc. he has tightened an already tight belt.
By adding a big gas tax rather than taxing drillers like most states do, he has made travel very tough and expensive for working class.
By refusing to sign a transportation bill in a timely fashion in 2013, he greatly affected the economy. Many construction workers were left with little or no funds to spend money which would boost the economy. This also put drivers of many highways and roads at risk driving on bridges that were in dire need of repair.
By changing the unemployment laws, he negatively affected thousands of seasonal workers. The restriction he added caused many hard working people unable to collect even though in some cases they earned over $30,000 in their base year. More money that didn't go in the economy.
His cuts to education are well documented. Many, if not most, school districts were forced to eliminate positions due to his cuts.
The state college/university system was also hurt and forced to cut entire departments at many institutions.
He also presented many ideas that didn't succeed but were designed to further cripple the working class. Included was his idea to tax those using state parks.

By Robert Costa / The Washington Post

In a stunning upset propelled by Tea Party activists, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., was defeated in Tuesday’s congressional primary, with insurgent David Brat delivering an unpredicted and devastating loss to the second-most-powerful Republican in the House, who has widely been touted as a future speaker.

The race was called shortly after 8 p.m. Eastern time by the Associated Press, and Mr. Cantor conceded a short time later.

“I know there’s a lot of long faces here tonight,” Mr. Cantor said to a stunned crowd of supporters in a Richmond hotel ballroom.“It’s disappointing, sure. But I believe in this country. I believe there’s opportunity around the next corner for all of us.”

Mr. Brat’s victory gives the GOP a volatile outlook for the rest of the campaign season, with the party establishment struggling late Tuesday to grapple with the news, and some conservatives relishing a surprising win.

“This is an earthquake,” said former Minnesota Rep. Vin Weber, a friend of Mr. Cantor’s.“No one thought he’d lose.”

But Mr. Brat, tapping into conservative anger over Mr. Cantor’s role in supporting efforts to reform federal immigration laws, found a way to combat the majjority leader’s significant financial edge.
