Thank Obama and the Democrats for reduced hours, stunted upward mobility and the elimination of employer provided health insurance coverage.
Obamacare: reducing hours for "police dispatchers, prison guards, substitute teachers, bus drivers, athletic coaches, school custodians, cafeteria workers and part-time professors."
New York Times, FEB. 20, 2014
Public Sector Cuts Part-Time Shifts to Bypass Insurance Law
Cities, counties, public schools and community colleges around the country have limited or reduced the work hours of part-time employees to avoid having to provide them with health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, state and local officials say.
The cuts to public sector employment, which has failed to rebound since the recession, could serve as a powerful political weapon for Republican critics of the health care law, who claim that it is creating a drain on the economy.
President Obama has twice delayed enforcement of the health care law’s employer mandate, which would subject larger employers to tax penalties if they do not offer insurance coverage to employees who work at least 30 hours a week, on average. But many public employers have already adopted policies, laws or regulations to make sure workers stay under that threshold.
Even after the administration said earlier this month that it would ease coverage requirements for larger employers, public employers generally said they were keeping the restrictions on work hours because their obligation to provide health insurance, starting in 2015, would be based on hours worked by employees this year. Among those whose hours have been restricted in recent months are police dispatchers, prison guards, substitute teachers, bus drivers, athletic coaches, school custodians, cafeteria workers and part-time professors.

Given this environment and the leadership transition as Ben Bernanke's term ends in January, the Fed will likely continue its current stimulus program at full blast
-- buying $85 billion in bonds each month
-- until at least March 2014.
That means QE3 could total around $1.6 trillion, calculates Paul Ashworth of Capital Economics.
That's more than either of its two predecessors. In contrast, QE1 totaled $1.5 trillion and the second round of stimulus added up to about $600 billion.
Most of the money created by the Fed is gathering dust in bank reserves and has not been making its way out to Main Street.
Since the Fed launched its latest bond-buying program in September 2012, bank reserves have increased by about $800 billion, whereas the currency circulating in the economy has increased by only $80 billion.
Meanwhile, repeated rounds of quantitative easing have fueled stock gains to the point where some economists say prices may no longer be reasonable.

For a cogent explanation of why a large fiscal stimulus was necessary in the aftermath of the financial crisis, I can do no more than recommend "End This Depression Now", by Paul Krugman. I know people on the right loathe Paul Krugman, but that is mostly because they simply cannot answer his reasoning. There is indeed a crucial difference between a national budget and a family budget that has escaped you.
And it was Harding and Coolidge who really made the great mistakes in the 1920s that led to the Great Depression, not Hoover; although he did not respond well to the situation. The Depression began barely months after Hoover took office. The groundwork for it was clearly laid before he ever took office.
Coolidge's economics were simply another variant of the trickle-down economics of the Bush II administration. THAT is what leads to these great economic collapses.

Ben Bernanke was hired by GW Bush in 2006.......
How he covered up for the recession......in 2007-2008......
A Chronicle of Uncertainty, Then Bold Action, in 2008 Fed Transcripts
The 14 transcripts that the Fed published Friday — covering the eight scheduled meetings and six more emergency sessions of its Federal Open Market Committee during 2008 — provide the fullest picture to date of the Fed’s efforts during the climax of one of the largest financial crises in American history.
The Fed in normal times is a powerful but somnolent institution, charged with keeping a steady hand on the rudder of the economy. It moves interest rates up and down to moderate inflation and minimize unemployment. But beginning in 2007 it was forced to take on a far more challenging role as a backstop for the global financial system. And then, because of the depth of the resulting recession, Fed officials also found themselves trying things they’d never done before.

Democrats are portraying the loss of full time work and income due to Obamacare fall-out as an 'advantageous' opportunity for entrepreneurship. Apparently banks will be lining up to loan business start-up money to unemployed citizens with no assets or income.
Full-time unemployment is a shameful consequence of the Obamacare debacle but Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., spins the loss of full time jobs as "advantages for individual families."
Democrats defensive as CBO projects job loss from ObamaCare, minimum-wage hike
February 20, 2014
Recent reports from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office project that two pillars of the Democratic Party agenda -- ObamaCare and a hike in the minimum wage -- will result in a combined loss of 3 million jobs over the next decade.
That forecast has forced Democrats into unfamiliar arguments to defend their own public policies, as they point to potential benefits of lost jobs and reduced hours.
"I don’t care what the CBO says about the job impact of ObamaCare," said Michael Mandel of the Progressive Policy Institute. "ObamaCare has a far-reaching impact and part of that is going to be to encourage entrepreneurship."
On NBC's Meet the Press, Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., described how statistical job loss translates into advantages for individual families.

Fact Checker:‘No, CBO Did Not Say Obamacare Will Kill 2 Million Jobs’
Obamacare’s critics can claim that the equivalent of 2.5 million less full time workers in the system is bad for the economy, and many will make that argument. But Kessler and others laid out how saying that the CBO claims Obamacare will “kill,”“cut,” or generally eliminate jobs from the market over the next 10 years is patently false.
Now FIXED news raises the count every week. 2 weeks it was 2 million jobs, then last week 2.5 million, now this week 3 million jobs! LMAO

Obamacare, aka the Affordable Care Act, works, contrary to what the billionaire Koch brothers say in all their TV ads run by "Americans for Prosperity." The Koch brothers are against any public interest program, be it Medicare or Social Security, or universal health care coverage such as Obamacare. They hate Obama, and they certainly can afford to promote their political goals. I'm sure they have great health care coverage, but do you think they'd help the 15 percent of Americans (45 million people) who have no health insurance with their health care costs?
The Affordable Care Act already has added nine million Americans, who previously had no coverage or had inadequate coverage, to the rolls of the insured, either by people buying lower cost individual coverage on the exchanges or by the expansion of Medicaid in those states that accepted the federal funding for the expansion. But many Republican-led states, like North Carolina, refused the expansion, despite the fact 100 percent of the added cost is covered by the feds for the first three years and 90 percent forever after. Many such state governments have done all they can to interfere with the implementation by making it difficult for people to get information and understand the new law.
But under Obamacare, no longer can insurance companies refuse coverage to someone with a pre-existing condition or drop people from coverage because they reached their maximum limit, and it bars insurance companies from denying coverage when people get sick. So, more and more people who had no coverage, or who had inadequate coverage, now are getting coverage because of Obamacare. And remember, much of Obamacare, that is, the Affordable Care Act, are things that Republicans in Congress required in order to be passed, and in fact, most of the program is the very same program that (Mitt) Romney introduced and which was approved by the legislature in Massachusetts, where it has proven to be very successful. It's just that Republicans didn't propose this; Democratic President Obama did.

Conservatives Shocked Obamacare Is Working Like It's Designed To
The most dangerous thing about Obamacare is the American people might like it.- Stephen Colbert
If Obamacare was REALLY so terrible, would every single conservative horror story and whining fit turn out to be made up and based on nothing? What kind of news consumer LIKES being lied to? They get fooled again and again and AGAIN by the same tricks. I don't understand what is wrong with these people. Is it just that they are old?
As you undoubtedly are aware, the very same strategy was part of Bush's Medicare Part D. It is designed so that companies don't have to overestimate their expenses. Those that do better than the average pay into the pot and those who do worse take out. It ends up with the government either paying very little or actually, as the article makes clear for people with normal reading comprehension, gaining from it.

Obama Plays Water-Guzzling Desert Golf Courses Amid California Drought
Feb. 17, 2014
After preaching shared sacrifice to assuage the California water shortage, Obama has played some of the country's thirstiest golf courses.
President Barack Obama traveled to California on Friday to highlight the state’s drought emergency at two events near Fresno, calling for shared sacrifice to help manage the state’s worst water shortage in decades.
He then spent the rest of the weekend enjoying the hospitality of some of the state’s top water hogs: desert golf courses.
#56064 Feb 22, 2014
It is certainly the sole fault and responsibility of Barrack H. Obama that:
1) Golf courses and cities were built in American deserts.
2) It hasn't rained much in California.
3)_________Fill in the blank for whatever else you can think of).
The cities in Arizona and Nevada consume huge quantities of water and electricity for no good reason - but somehow by playing golf Obama is now to blame for the weather too?
This experiment in greed and stupidity that we call America sure is funny.

The Obamacare lipstick is wearing off.
‘Are they going to have to start over?’ CBS’ Bob Schieffer grills Dem governor over Obamacare
CBS reporter Bob Schieffer lambasted Obamacare in an interview with Maryland Democratic Gov. Martin O’Malley on Sunday, saying the law “does not appear to work” and asking the governor if the Obama administration is “going to have to start over.”
O’Malley appeared on CBS’“Face the Nation” to discuss where his state stands on implementing Obamacare. But Schieffer seemed more interested in complaining about the healthcare law itself.
“One of the things that does not appear to work, or has had a hard time even getting off the — off the floor, getting started, is the president’s healthcare plan,” Schieffer began.“There’s no other way to look at it: this roll out was a disaster. Where are you on that, and how much do you think that’s going to hurt Democrats?”

If Obamacare Is So Bad, Why Can’t The Right Wingers Find Real Losers Under Obamacare?
Republicans have trying to scare voters with stories about people who are losers under the Affordable Care Act. They mention them in speeches, run ads about them, and put them on Fox. Each and every time this has happened reporters checking into the facts found that rather than being losers the people turned out to actually be benefiting from Obamacare. Each and every time. Considering how hard they are trying to show that Obamacare is terrible, you would think that if there are actual losers out there they would find some.
The latest case, which is quite typical of all the others, is put out by Americans For Prosperity in Michigan and makes these claims:
“I was diagnosed with leukemia. I found out I only have a 20 percent chance of surviving. I found this wonderful doctor and a great health care plan. I was doing fairly well fighting the cancer, fighting the leukemia, and then I received a letter. My insurance was canceled because of Obamacare. Now, the out-of-pocket costs are so high, it’s unaffordable. If I do not receive my medication, I will die. I believed the president. I believed I could keep my health insurance plan. I feel lied to. It’s heartbreaking for me. Congressman Peters, your decision to vote Obamacare jeopardized my health.”
Glenn Kessler looked into the facts. Once again it turned out that the claims were false. The Republicans are lying yet again.
The patient was able to obtain a plan which her doctor participated in. Her premiums are significantly lower, offsetting the higher out of pocket expenses. She also could have purchased a plan with higher premiums and lower out of pocket expenses. Compared with her previous plan, the new plan not only has lower premiums and an out-of-pocket maximum, it has better coverage for chemotherapy.
With the right wing groups repeatedly having to lie to make claims that people are being hurt under Obamacare, it has come to the point where Kevin Drum writes he is “beginning to think there’s not actually a single person in America who’s been harmed by Obamacare.” If there were, you would think that the right wing groups would be able to come up with real examples.
