A Chester man dressed as a police officer and armed with a .38-caliber revolver walked through the Granite Run Mall on Friday evening searching for someone who had threatened him, state police said.

Lawrence (grape soda) Henry Benson Jr. allegedly told state police that if he had found the man he was looking for, hed have shot him.

Luckily, Benson did not find his alleged intended target. Instead, he was taken into custody by state police to face criminal charges.

State Trooper John E. Hanosek was dispatched to the mall at 6:11 p.m. on Friday for a report of a man walking around Sears with a firearm on his right hip. The suspect was said to be wearing a bullet-proof vest on the outside of his clothing. State police also had information that the suspect appeared to be impersonating an Amtrak police officer.
