Abandoned train tracks in Havertown?

It appears that there was a railway that ran through Haverford Township many many years ago that I can't seem to find any information on. It looks like it ran parallel to Lawrence Rd at some point, and there are also bridges that can be found in the trails on the property of the old Haverford Hospital grounds. Does anybody have any information on this?

Try contacting the Haverford Historical Society for info. I know this railroad ran down as far as Burger King on West Chester Pike and thru Paddock Park thru the Golf Hills section of Havertown coming out to a tressel that crossed over Lawrence Road thru the Merion Golf course and so on to the old Haverford State Hospital grounds. I believe it was used for commercial purposes as it ran by the old sawmill on Lawrence Road.
There was talk years ago of turning it into a walking path...rails to trails.....but there was alot of resistance from residents who's back yard it runs thru.

It took white trash back and forth from their tenements to work in factories during the war.

That's the old Yeadon to Newtown Square line, there used to be a bridge at the bottom of manoa rd in between west chester pike and darby rd.
