Golnik for Congress

Full story: Lowell Sun 85
If you can strip away Niki Tsongas' lockstep voting record with Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, it's easier to rationalize her bid to be returned to Washington as our Fifth Congressional District representative. Full Story

Paul Tsongas must be rolling in his grave at this endorsement, but that is him and not me. I do not need a newspaper to tell me who to vote for but this is a pretty decent editorial. I am just a tad surprised that's all, I mean her late hubby was such a legend around these parts.

People should never be elected based on how their spouse did when he or she was in office. Paul was a decent guy who listened to the voters as opposed to his wife. I think that Mr. Tsongas would have already rolled over in his grave when she was elected and then again when she supported all the democratic policies without listening to her own area.
Her conflicts with voters at the town meetings was evident and made them more convinced to vote her out.

Who else would they endorse? The Sun is a pro-republican paper so they endorse the republican. No surprise here.

Niki Tsongas is an arrogant out of touch liberal eletist who should be representing Brookline,Cambridge or Newton and not lowell dracut and the rest of the 5th congressional district.VOTE JON GOLNIK

Self-test for voters:

Between now and 7 AM Tuesday count all the empty factories and empty storefronts and homes for sale that you pass.

Multiply by 10+% unemployment and $14 TRILLION national debt ($44K / person). By my shaky math each person in China owns an enormous chunk of our debt [your future], and we pay $1.15 BILLION just in INTEREST each day.

So is this regulate & tax & borrow & spend socialism working for you?

Do you want a government that will gladly RULE every part of your life?

Or one which will guard your borders, your safety from enemies, and your personal and economic freedoms?

The sentiments expressed in this endorsement of Jon Golnik couldn't be more on target. For someone who has met Jon, I see a competent candidate who truly wants to represent the wishes and concerns of the people in the 5th Massachusetts congressional district. Jon is a family man and someone you would be proud to call a friend. He will do right by the people of the 5th district and I hope he will receive your vote on Tuesday November 2.

This is all lies. I'm voting for Nikki Tsongas and I don't believe anything the Lowell Sun writes. Anyone who buys advertising in your idiot newspaper might lose my business. What a disgusting editorial

I don't trust a politician or politician wanna be,(democrat, republican, whatever) who didn't vote for years and years. It just doesn't sit right with me.

According to Donald Lane, I should vote for this guy b/c he's a "family man". Last I checked, Mrs. Tsongas is also a parent, a single parent since the death of her husband in the early 90s.

Iron Mike says it's "regulate & tax & borrow & spend socialism". There sure wasn't enough regulation while Wall Street was having an orgy with thier "CDOs". If we've been OVERTAXED, it's because the highest earners have been UNDERTAXED (even Warren Buffest agrees with that one!) The borrow and spend required to keep the economy from slipping into depression was needed.

The problem is that it doesn't look like the good times will be coming back anytime soon, no matter who is in the White House or Congress. It doesn't matter how much frothing at the mouth that the electorate does.

Congrats Jon, and well done Lowell Sun. Unfortunately, there will still be a large amount of people in Lowell who will vote for Nikki because she was married to Paul, and he was great. Given that logic, we should have had Giselle take over for Brady when he went down with a knee injury.

This position is about representing the people. Nikki represented the Socialistic agenda of the present administration (that has been in charge for the last 4 years). As once said...'government is the problem'. On to victory Tuesday, and time for Nikki to retire.

OK, using your 'logic', let's pick our "RICHEST 2%" of Americans. Let's not just TAX them, let's STRIP THEM of their WEALTH - every last dime!

You / your government would STILL be in HOCK to the CHINESE by some $13 TRILLION!!!

So who would you tax NEXT? Oh, and having stripped the wealthiest - who would create JOBS? Remember you typed your inane comment on a computer invented here in the USA - using an operating system designed by Steve Jobs or Bill Gates - who you now want to SUPERTAX.

Try and remember back when the Dems took control of Beacon Hill [vic 65] and Capitol Hill [vic 61]. WHEN did industry start leaving Mass, New England, and then the USA? 1970!

You can't blame Republicans for chasing industry away - even though the current crop of Obama socialists want to blame everything on GW Bush. Strongly urge you to stop dringing the Kool-Aid and get real. If you really believe that Socialism is best - try Greece or France right now,- or Cuba. Britian just laid off 500,000 govt workers.

Where do you this outrageous number of 13 billion in debt to the chinese. I checked and it was estimated to be in the area of 755 billion. What's in your kool-aid?
