Grown ups should leave their play time at home & not under the table. Children are at school to learn but not that kind of thing.

Our Illinois Legislature has proposed legislation to establish discriminatory special protections for homosexuals that would exempt them from any disciplinary action for immoral acts, not to imply any guilt on the part of the two dismissed people. I have no details on what did or didn't go on!

Guaranteed that affairs such as this have happened at virtually every school across the land. Are you going to stop sending your children to every school where an inpropriety has occurred? Guaranteed an inpropriety has already happened at your school, but maybe you just weren't in the loop to know about it, or maybe it wasn't front page headline news. It is ridiculous to make global accusations about Havana and its schools because two people were inappropriate with each other. Do you think that two people have never been inappropriate in your town? In your schools? Wake up! How much more holier than thou can you get? As if everyone is perfect everywhere else!

They forget to mention that a fourth grade teacher, Mrs Simmers also resigned the same day. There were lots of things happening at this school that compromised the childrens safety. Prehaps that was because the Principal was too busy doing something or someone else!
The guy was rude and arrogant and I am glad he is gone. Looks like he's also a ladies man as well.
The attitude that it isn't a big deal because it happens all the time and that everyone should forget about it, is a sad mindset these days. It as if it's acceptable these days.
Maybe we should get them both golden hip hop chains with the big letter A to hang from their necks , since they are so in with the world!
Maybe we should have a class at the grade school's teaching all the kids how they can sneak around the school and which bathroom locker rooms they can hide in and get it on with the other kids. We need to set the right examples for our kids and sadly most of us do not and that is why so many kids these days are so messed up. People just don't care anymore.
I guess for a middle aged person I am just old fashioned.

Glad, just for the record, as it states in the news stories posted here Ms. Simmers did not resign on the same day as Mr. Snowden, but the following day.

This was the first article I read and it does not even mention the teacher. The later article's I read did , but this one did not.

It really doesn't matter to me what day she resigned as long as she resigned.

So i stand corrected. ;)

It's a little of the "old fashioned stuff " and the belief system I believe in. Alot of people these days seem to not care about what's right and what's wrong. "It's all about what makes them feel good at the time, "who cares who else it hurts mentality is killing our society." We live in a very sad world!

At least this involved sex between two adults and not improprieties against the children. And I do appreciate that whether they were fired or allowed to resign, they were promptly removed from the district. Not all school districts would have acted as swiftly on a matter that unfortunately is quite common and is quite commonly dealt with by slaps on the hand or not at all. Everyone knows these people left because they couldn't keep it in their pants and got caught and that will follow them wherever they go from here. Good riddance!

I knew it, your a teacher, maybe the teacher in question? Didn't take you long to find something wrong with my grammar, Like I care. I do not proclaim to be prefect. I'll be the first person to say I can not spell worth a crap and my grammar stinks, so maybe you can come up with something else to do besides grade our posts.

you are so right, the world is becoming a very bad place . If the parents would actually wake up and realize what their kids are doing the world might actually become a better place. Most parents don't care and that's the prob;em
what about the children

I am very upset about the "going's on"! excuse my english for this following comment might have some mis-spelled words.
I am very concerned my daughter is a fourth grade student and was in fact a student of Mrs. Simmers.
All the talk about Mr.Snowden being gone and people being glad as well as Mrs.Simmers. I agree there NEVER should have been anything going on in a place where we think we are sending our children to learn, reading, writing, math etc. not for the knowledge of "extra"activities. A place were we feel are kids are safe and away from the everyday Crazy world bullshit! My daughter was very upset at the finding out of what was going on and not only would she be getting a New pricipal but also a New teacher. These people were and are married with children. What are we suppose to tell our children when they come home with all the questions? Concern? My daughter knows that these things are not Normal. But there are many diffrent age groups that go to New Central. I am sure they do not understand what they hear as well as the older kids. I think it is terrible that we are more worried about each others grammer and not concerned about coming together as a community. Its crazy and thats what we should be focused on!
