Pat, When were you spied on, seized, held captive and tortured? You did say "WE" implying that you were. You've heard that line so much that you're sounding like on of the Democratic parrots. All you can do is repeat what someone else said somewhere. I am a Republican, but I have to say that Bush has not been one of our better presidents, however, he is by far not the worst. Of all of our recent Presidents, Jimmy Carter has that honor with Clinton and Ford close behind. As for what you are claiming torture I have 2 things to say: 1) Consider who we are supposed to be torturing. I assume you are referring to GITMO; and 2) we are at war and according to the Geneva Convention, personnel captured on the battlefield engaging in hostile activities are considered prisoners of war and can be held for the duration of the war. Why don't you take a trip to GITMO and see exactly how the prisoners are treated and quite relying on the liberal media. Better yet, since you feel they are so mistreated, why don't you volunteer to take custody of one or two of them. I'm sure you would make them comfortable and feel welcome.

<quoted text>Well, who says that we still have a Democracy? Bush and Cheney thumbed their nose at the Constitution. We are spied on, illegally seized and held, tortured. We could always continue Corporate well fare. Did you see those latest CEO salaries and benefits on Maui? Large number of workers laid off at that company. That is happening all over America. Or American jobs could continue to be out sourced to the Phillipines such as Hawaiian Air. Call tech support for MSN and end up in India or South America. Really Patriotic these companies, huh? Tax those oil companies. About time. The oil profits at the expense of so many human beings deaths Iraq, American, etc. are obscene. How about those Bush tax cuts for the rich..big raise in Billionairs. Didn't help me. How about you? Universal Health Care is essential for America's citizens. Insurance companies and drug companies should not be controlling our right to affordable health care.
You half wit ignoramus: we have NEVER had a "democracy"?

Here's a clue: What is the SIXTEENTH word in the Pledge of Allegiance?

You HAVE heard of the Pledge of Allegiance, haven't you?

How about the U.S. Constitution? It's a thin book. Try reading it sometime; you might learn something.

One of the things you have clearly NOT figured out however comes through loud in clear in your idiotic notion " Tax those oil companies."

Corporations do not PAY taxes -- the COLLECT taxes.

If nincompoops like you succeed in efforts to pass a "windfall profit" tax on the oil companies hypocrites like YOU depend on to fill up the tank, just who do you think will pay for those new taxes when YOU pull up to the pump, eh?

All of the goodies you think you are entitled to at government expense will be inefficiently provided by credulous saps like you by more paycheck with holding ....of course this assumes you actually are capable of EARNING a paycheck and are not merely a no load free loader living at the expense of others. And from the silly things you have to say, that may not be such a red hot assumption.
