Dear SB editor: For starters, how about spelling the title of this article correctly with 3 a's between the K and W!

Save the school, please! And mainland people, you don't know what you're talking about. Ka'a'awa students score well in standardized tests. Don't ask to close the school if you don't know what you're talking about.

It is simply amazing that these Bureaucratic Bungler's and their ongoing personal malfeasance can continue to override and impede a childs ability to get an education in this State! Why don't we just take everyone Lingle appointed (because they are all critons!) and shoot them at the nearest landfill..? Want to save money? Shut down all State, City, and County governmental agencies--they don't do anything but create problems and waste money... They are all imbeciles!

Amazing, they can close a school in a flood innundation zone, yet they allow private citizens to build in those same zones. Does this mean that we should stop all development in these zones? Should Ho'opili be stopped because of this reason? Should all of Hawaii Kai's development be stopped, and the building of homes in Kahala also be banned?

What[s with the judgment by the people on the US continent? They know little about Ka`a`awa. I know doctors, lawyers, teachers, social workers and other professionals who got their early start at Ka`a`awa School.

As a resident of Ka`a`awa I would like to say that those who know nothing about the issue should be less willing to show their ignorance. Ka`a`awa School exceeds or meets the state's average in most cases in reading and math standardized testing scores. Neither of the two schools being proposed for consolidation even comes close in most cases to meeting the State average. You can verify this on the DOE website if you are inclined to work from facts rather than assumptions. In my book academic excellance should be a reason for keeping a school open. There are many other reasons to keep this school open which would be nice for the press to cover and also please not only spell the town right but punctuate it right also it is Ka`a`awa.

It would be nice if proofreaders catch the simple spelling mistakes of our town/city names. KAAWA is not correct in the heading...it is spelled properly (KAAAWA) in the body of the text.
