"America cannot afford health care reform bill"

Think hidden costs. By making it mandatory that everyone have it and fining companies that do not provide it or make them provide it does ANYONE think they are just going to eat those costs or will they show up in what we ALL pay for goods and services? Free healthcare is NOT free period.

Hey Willie, did you see the article about CO2?
Do you think the CO2 is increasing naturally?
Just an opinion, but I think all you global warming doubters will be proven wrong. And- it will be very embarrassing.

"I have had pedestrians rush out in front of my moving car to catch the last few moments of a blinking orange hand in the walk signal."

If the hand was still blinking, that means you still had a red light. So if that put them in danger, it means you were the danger.

Good read here:

It may be embarrassing if in fact I am proven wrong but it won't cost a few trillion dollars to do so...you better be 100000000% sure we can stop or reverse it before jumping in a trying to fix ANYTHING.

<<Pedestrians have duty to be safe, J.B. Young>>

We all know there are numerous stupid drivers on the roadways, but here's the bottom line. In a duel between a pedestrian and a vehicle, the vehicle will most always come out the winner. If pedestrians would think about this while crossing a roadway, there would be a lot less accidents involving them. Simple enough.

No. That would mean the driver is almost always right. Both sides need to address this issue. I think many who use crosswalks believe they have a superiority complex and a feeling the law is always on their side regardless of the light. But at the same time, I see many drivers making right hand turns who are more interested in the traffic to their left than the person on the corner ready to cross.

D Fujii, CPB's stock price is so low because they are losing tons of money on bad loans made on the mainland and in Hawaii. It is questionable if they will survive as a company. Would you invest in something if there was a good possibily you would lose all your money?

"America cannot afford health care reform bill"

It will not be free but many people think it will be.

Then again Al Gore will be the first "green" billionaire courtesy of government policies structured to make him the first green billionaire with Generation Investment Management LLP

So you'd much rather that we keep the current crappy healthcare system that we have that is just making the insurance and pharma companies richer. That's the system we really need!! Maybe we can drop lower than 37th place by the end of the year.

Poor James Roller is just going to worry himself to death over health care.

Maybe he'll feel better if he ponders how we'll pay for it if we do nothing (but I doubt it!).

Hey I know, fix what is BROKEN and don't mess with the rest. If indeed there is 200 billion in waste and fraud in medicare...FIX THAT....

Have YOU read all 2000+ pages of the bill so you know what you ae talking about or are you just blowing smoke like the rest of your pack?

You can shove that 37th place right where the sun does not shine....it is bogus but the lemmings keep quoting it as 100% true...you think our care is that bad then why live here...move.

If you applied your "fix what is broken and don't mess with the rest" mentality to the military, we wouldn't be buying newer equipment at all.

Besides, this is health care legislation going through. If you believe health care is broken, then this IS an attempt to fix it.

The Health care reform bill isn't about improving health care.

It's about one thing and one thing only----power.

If you believe anything else, you're incredibly naive.

"Regardless of how the American people feel on the subject, our so-called representatives in Congress will force this issue down our throat. People will suffer more if this bill goes through and as America marches toward more government intervention in their lives. It will be historic if this bill passes; it will be a sadly historic day.

James Roller"

Mr Roller is absolutely correct. BO is selling this countries heart and soul to the highest bidder which just happens to be China (and the last time I checked they are not a democracy or a free country). My bet is that that health plan will be forced on us and then sick people from all over the world will flood in and take full advantage of all the free (to them) health care. The few taxpayers who are left will be shaking in their shoes (that have holes) as their pockets are picked clean by BO and his boys and girls. Just what are those boys and girls in Congress getting out of this? Money? Power? GLobalism? Shame on them.

I'm not discussing Cheney. I am discussing Al Gore. Focus on the topic: AL GORE and his Generation Investment Management LLC which used some scientists some who have been exposed:

Of course the local papers did not cover this.

You think R. Gnolda is a GOP er? Ha ha. And to Roller, guess what, the american people support universal health care insurance.
Its embarrsing that our country cant do for its citizens what so many other countries can.

Regarding R. Gnolda's letter:

All those suggestions that people like to spout to cut government are not necessarily realistic. People who have no idea how government works always have "great" ideas on how to run it. However, as soon as the government cuts something that affects them, they're the first to start complaining.

The reason Central Pacific Bank's stock price is so low is because of various setbacks associated with the employment of Alex the Loyalty Officer. First, there were numerous cases of Alex biting the mailman, the UPS driver and the FedEx guy. Those led to a parade of lawsuits. Second, Alex got control of a company credit card and ordered millions of dollars worth of chew toys and milk bones from PetsRYou.com . Third, a merger with a European bank was called off when Alex interrupted a key meeting by humping the leg of that bank's president. This is what happens when you give a dog a senior management position!
