This is still america
|
on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in the spring in central park - many thousands of strollers about - a young woman (mid 20's) was laying on her stomach with her butt almost entirely exposed and no visible underwear on - I took two pictures with my cellphone from about fifteen feet away as I thought it made for a cute candid shot - well - a woman sitting near her alerted her to what I did - and she complained to the police and I was charged with "unlawful survielance" a felony. I told the cops she was in "plain sight" in central park and had no expectation of privacy - the point is that the cops did next to nothing to establish "probable cause" - they had her complaint - it was about 3pm - just in time for plenty of overtime processing the arrest into the next 4-12 pm shift, about $300+ which to these bozos was worth locking me up - a night in jail and two lost days pay - the case has been dismissed - they should have at least asked me if I would show them the pictures which make clear that I was no where near her and she was in plain sight - but no crime - no overtime. Bastards! Anyway - we'll see what a Fed judge says - this is still america.
And Ron Paul is part right - but mostly wrong - problems don't go away by ignoring them - vote McCain.

Now this man has lost years of his life for something he did not do. Maybe James McCready should be held accountable for his shoddy and sleazy actions during this case..And Spota, with all the ties to key players, should never had anything to do with this. I am extremely happy for Martin Tankleff and hope that he makes the most of his well deserved freedom. Bright blessing to you Martin. I agree wholeheartedly with the above, regarding holding Mcready and Spota accountable and would add that their apparent collusion did not happen in a vacuum. Others are also complicit in the department and should also be called to answer for their actions as this horrific miscarriage of justice could not have happened without many " silent" partners. There is no statute of limitations on murder and what was done to this poor man Mr. Tankleff was the taking of 17 young, productive years of his life

I am an ex New Yorker and watched this trail from the begining. I was horrified when they convicted Martin Tankloff of his parents murder. I knew he wasnt; guilty and that he was railroaded. I am very happy for him that he is finally out in the world where he belongs. I hope that he makes something good of the rest of his life. Best of everything Martin.....

Especially since some of the guys who did this to him are now in charge.

Congradulations Marty Tankleff, it's now time to collect your 200 dollars, pass go purchase Boardwalk and let Suffolk County land there. You my friend deserve the jackpot, please don't spend any of your upcoming fortune in NY , they don't deserve the tax revenue. I found peace in PA away from those voltures.

Sure, Jim McCready may be unrefined and a downright asshole. The fact of the matter is not this though. The fact is that he was a great detective who used legal and common tactics to obtain a murder confession from a murderer. Det. McCready did his job very well and brought a good case to closure. I know an hour of questioning wouldnt just majically make me admit to killing my family... would you?

Give a little credit to Suffolk County, they thought about it and didnt think that it was worth it. On another note KGB RICE would have dug up the Corspe and carried it into the Court room.
