Its about time...I watched the trial from the beginning to end and was horrified that a guilty verdict was returned. Now this man has lost years of his life for something he did not do. Maybe James McCready should be held accountable for his shoddy and sleazy actions during this case..And Spota, with all the ties to key players, should never had anything to do with this. I am extremely happy for Martin Tankleff and hope that he makes the most of his well deserved freedom. Bright blessing to you Martin.

GO MARTY GO! Oh YAY! I'm so excited! Amen and thank God. It's time for this nation to look more closely at some of the other obvious cases of bad cops, bad lawyers, bad investigations, and bad convictions.

Marty, congratulations. You are a very lucky man to have all the love and support of your family for all these years. Go forth and do great things with your new life. Grieve properly for your parents. Learn, laugh, love, and eat stuff that doesn't have somebody else's fingernails in it! HA!

So what will we do with the Judge and the DA? Neither of whom covered themselves with honor. Both are brought to us by the Democratic Party Political machine and the current system of elections. Remember this when you vote Democratic next time.

So you think Marty will spend the rest of his life looking for the "real" killers of his parents just like OJ said he would?

Nooooooo ..... He already knows who the "real" killers are, so do we. The question is, will he spend the rest of his life chasing the "bad" guys that stole 20 years of his life.

It's so sad that this young man has spent his life in Jail. It must have driven him crazy everyday having to deal with the death of his parents and no one to listen to him. I'm sure there are many other people still in prison who are in the same boat and many have died in jail knowing they had the wrong person.
Think about all the things that has happened in the last 19 years and he wasn't able to enjoy these new things in life. I think he's a Yankee fan so the last two years I know he was happy he wasnt' able to watch. But just like the Yankees I sure this young man will be on top of his game and will start a new life. Good luck Marty enjoy what life you have left make the best of it, live each day as tho it's your last. Please don't get married you suffered enough!

As a private attorney, Spota represented K. James McCready, the detective who tricked Tankleff into confessing. And Spota's law firm had represented Steuerman and his family.

Mr Spota would not have let this go except for the fact of Andrew Cuomo was talking about a special prosecutor. Tankloff was railroaded by Spota, Mccreedy Stuerman the whole trial was a travisty. Tankloff should sue Suffolk County and all those involved personally.

Hey friend, 20 years ago, Martin Tankleff was convicted by a republican DA and a republican judge.
This is not a democrat/republican thing, it's about corrupt people.

And kept in Jail by a Democratic Judge and a Democratic DA in a Democratic County that steals taxpayers money every day. We need a real Third Party willing to clean house. And new laws stating that if you are guilty of a crime while serving in your government job, you lose your pension!

He was convicted by a jury, not a Judge or DA.

spota represented the partner steurmann, who orchestrated the murder, and detective mcreeddy produced the proof in a lying desperate manner. Spota is as guilty as can be ,he represented these two pieces of scum, and helped send and keep an innocent person in jail. Im sure he and mcreedy got some $$ from the partner steurmann,
Are you kidding

How about Marty's sister? She is the only one upset with Marty's release and still blames him for the murders. Marty was supposed to inherit most of the 3.5 million estate but she inherited all of it because of his murder conviction. Now she is a partner in a business with McCreedy. A little suspicious? Now he has lost 17 years of his life. We need to videotape all confessions
