It's perception versus truth. Read the headline, and your perception will be Smithtown Schools hire perverts. Read the article carefully, and your perception will change with exposure to the truth. Let's take the perception that teachers are overpaid. When you examine the truth - that they work 180 days a year from 8AM to 2:30PM, have every holiday and the entire summer off, receive a stipend for what most in the community do as volunteer work, and retire at age 55 to house in Greenport on the water... Sorry harriet from Deer Park. The perception is the truth. Teachers are grossly overpaid. The remainder of us saps work hard and die young supporting their Debsian socialist dream existence.
Stop your whining - if teaching is THAT easy go to grad school, take the state tests, get your license, and live the dream. If you're not willing to do that - shut up and let us do our jobs without having to listen to stuffed shirts like you who probably sit and spin in their office chairs all day.

This is not a woman, its a child. A child is not capable of consenting to sex with an adult. A child is not capable of having a "fling" with a grown man.
This man preyed upon and used this child.
I hate that a filthy pig of an adult would ever think to put his hands on a child to fulfill his sexual thrills.
There are plenty of adults in this world to find a willing partner among.
Prey upon a little girl, and yes to a 29 year old a fifteen year old is a little girl, and you will go to jail.

have you ever seen the way some 15 year old girls act and dress?? these are not your little sweet girls anymore, alot of them, whether you want to beleive it or not, are out looking for thrills. i most HS's kids between the ages of 12 -16, play more sexual games than you can imagine.
this "girl" had a consentual relationship, with this man. he is not the only one responsible for this.
i agree, although she might have(or not) been persuaded into sexuals acts she still could have said no if she didn't want to, and don't resort to the cop-out "its tough to say no to someone older and who has power" or "she might have been scared of getting in trouble" thats all crap, if you dont want to do something you don't want to do you say no and walk-away or tell an adult. its that simple and clean cut. now we can begin to rip on the parents of teenage girls to carve into there niave minds that saying no to anyone is ok. growing up in strict households not being aloud to say NO to anything leaves a lasting impression on many teenagers = saying no will get you in trouble. learning to say no (to certain things) is not really a bad thing, it is teaching your child to be independent and strong. AS A SENIOR IN HIGHSCHOOL I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF MORE 9th,10th GRADE STUDENTS HAVING SO MUCH SEX in my life.

This guy isn't a teacher- he used to make my coffee at Starbuck's. I love how Newsday calls him a "teacher" just to sell newspapers. He is an "instructor." Teachers have licenses.
also very true. same thing happened on OCT. 31st of last year(2007) 2 cars crash 3 dead(2 of my best freinds) and saying the younger driver of the honda civic did not have a license, when he clearly did in his wallet. On record the DMV( F'ed up his record) record it stated that he only had his juniors because it never updated in the system. The information about this was availible to anyone mere hours after the crash, but Newsday still printed that he was driving with 2 seniors in his car while he only had a juniors license,(which i will remind you is cra,p. he's been driving for a over a year) WE MUST NEVER FORGET MEDIA IS PROPOGANDA, NEWSPAPERS ARE PROPOGANDA, NOW EVERYONE -- GO READ 1984.

There's nothing wrong with Cornet or their staff... this was ONE person. I worked there 3 years ago and can say they are good folks.

I used to work at Cornet a long time ago. The foks that work there and own the place are good people and I'm sure they had no knowlegde of this .
Parents need to step up a little on this one. Different times call for different measures. You cannot trust everyone..even a teacher. If you have children you know that you need to talk to them. Find out whats going on in their lives. If you aren't talkin to them now when will you start.

So you're saying forcible rape is just as bad as statutory rape? What a sick thought process you have.
You know either way is wrong and should be punished. This questions your thought process! Lets say (only as example)that your 15 yr daughter does say yes to an adult for sex, does that make it right? No,it don't. More than likely the adult KNOWS the about age of the minor. Then when caught they say 'i THOUGHT SHE WAS 20" sO Both should be punished, but I also say the forced rape should be strictest punishment.
