Please Vote No on May 4th. They are trying to be sneaky with this. It is shameful.

This tax was a 9.28 mill tax when passed back in 1998. Now it is going up .32 hundredeths for a total of 9.60 mill tax renewal. Property taxes in a lot of our parishes are the highest in the state. This renewal must be defeated. Two many fat cats living off RPSO. Like welfare. We need a reduction in the total number supervisors. Or maybe a pay cut could fill in for the defeated tax. Sure Hilton is trying to put fear into the people. He is only trying to protect his personal interest. But guess what he needs to face reality. Everyone is having to tighten their belts including RPSO. He likes to brag about all his accomplishments that involve a lot of wasted tax dollars. Total waste of tax dollars being paid to two so called preachers.

Hilton wants all the Deputies to get 10 votes for the Tax Renewal or massave layoffs if it fails. Lets bite the bullet and trim the fat with a big VOTE NO. Now we have to get 20 votes against renewal to defeat it.

Woodworth quote: Lets bite the bullet and trim the fat"

Why don't you trim the fat from between your ears, Woodworth?
Shooting down the renewal doesn't hurt Hilton, it hurts law enforcement and services they provide across the parish.
WEH will be the last man laid off. What good does that do....even for your ego?
I didn't vote for Hilton but I will vote to renew the millage tax so that the men and woman on patrol can keep their jobs and we can sleep more safe in our beds.
Woodworth, you're playing an old tune that nobody listens to anymore.
Play it somewhere else.
Woodworth, you're the last man I'd want running or even working at RPSO.
I think it's time for this blog to be shut down for lack of reasonable discussion.

I could not have said it better. If Barney Fife was sheriff that tax renewal is needed. The last man standing will be the sheriff as you said. All sheriffs enjoy tremendous power and all employed there serve at his will, the good and the bad. I would encourage the sitting sheriff to review his budget and his expenditures line by line and make some adjustments to show his good faith as a reasonable and good steward of our tax money.

I agree, woodworth is his 'own worst enemy'. He has helped WEH more than hurt him. If he gets on this blog next election supporting any certain candidate. I will not vote for his candidate. And if he changes his blog name. We still be able to see it is him with his selfish motives.

Vote no for the 9.60 mill tax renewal. Do away with the waste at RPSO and no tax renewal will be needed.

Of course there are those hateful enough to cut WMH's budget by a couple of million dollars just to make his job tougher in their vengeful scheme.
Cutting the tax will force the RPSO to run on millions of dollars less. Services will be dramatically cut and the crime rate will inevitably rise.
The same naysayers will then hold it against WMH when it was the voters themselves who brought about an eonomic catastrophy.
I'm comfortable with the RPSO service I'm getting for my tax dollar and will vote yes.
I submit to you: could anybody else successfully run the Sheriff's Dept on millions of dollars less?
Wagner couldn't!

Thats correct, its not gonna be the new hires that get hurt! Its gonna be the dept. as a whole! The service will decrease, and you the public as a whole will suffer! Less Deputies, less protection, less everyting! So, vote yes, keep these guys with roofs over thier families heads and food on the table!

I voted Wagner before. During the past campaign. One of Wagner big time supporters that was in rpso. Made a comment to me. If Chuck gets elected,he would have to support the renewal. Due to the fact RPSO has heavily relied on it for years. And without it would have a terrible affect on the parish. Now I find interesting they can't be objective enough for the betterment of all the people. Most of these posters on here have shown they have selfish political motives. And they are filled with jealousy & hate because someone else got some postions they or their family wanted. So now it is payback time. And they are ok with the citizens suffering so they can accomplish their agenda.

You need to back up and punt. Sounds like you are talking out of your rectum. Your king confessed that Wagner left the RPSO in good shape dollar wise. So he obviously sucessfully ran RPSO. Only way Hilton can be successfuly run RPSO is with an excess bank account. He is not smart enough to operate on a tight budget.

It may be an increase because: 1. property values, by law are reassessed, always valued more, therefore the intake will rise. 2. Just this week, the national stats indicated some marginal improvement in the economy and job numbers which means more property bought, improvements made, etc. 3. The costs of living since the tax was last RENEWED has increased so operating expenses for every business including the S.O. is higher. Gas prices have doubled since the tax was last RENEWED just to name one major necessity for running any business. Hopefully, the sitting sheriff will be a good steward with the funds; if he is not a good steward, vote him out.

Thank you for painting the total picture for the people to decide. Instead of only wanting defeated because of selfish political vendetta motives.

Same as always. The majority of the "people" you speak of will not have to pay a dime of this. The Democrat way. All these people I hear complain about democracts and claim to be republican alway seem to put their ideology aside to support what is best for them. Deputies supporting a tax while they complain about Obama raising taxes and creating entitlement programs. Hypocrites. No one stands for anything other than themselves now days. This exact mentality is why we have the current situation we have in this country. Good job and keep it up. Lets see how long this lasts.
