Let me get this straight... you have a guy without a fishing license and it'll cost you $900,000. You have illegal mexicans without visas and they don't pay any penalty at all and the federal government will fight FOR them??? Tell me this country ain't screwed up.

No, no, no, this is a prize for a fishing tournament, the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament, not a fine. According to the story one crew member of the boat that caught the winning fish didn't have the required fishing license and therefore may have to forfeit the prize money.

What a deal! If the guy wouldn't have been there the fish would be out there. Therefore pay up.

The guy that caught the fish had a valid license. It is my understanding that just one of the crew members was with out a license. I think that is ridiculous!

I'd hire Johnny Cochran and sue everybody i could if i was the guy that caught the fish. I'd be the happy new owner of the Citation! He chartered the boat and hired the crew to fish the tournament from my understanding. I fished the Big Rock. I think the whole thing is a fiasco caused by somebody jealous that they didn't win.

If you look at the rules of this tournament, it states clearly that EVERYONE on board must have a valid fishing license. My family and I go down for this tournament every year and love to see these fish being brought in. This was one of the biggest we have ever seen. The captain should have made sure that everyones license was valid before he let anyone on his boat. I hate it for the crew and the man who caught this. I will be really ticked off if a piece of paper worth 15 bucks cost me 900,000 dollars. But the rules are clear and everyone fishing in this tournament know these rules. Sorry to hear Citation even lost the biggest fish in the history of big rock. just hate to hear it.

this tournament is based on trust.the captain should have made sure that everyone had valid license.the whole team shouldnt be punished but if they let them by on this then whose to say someone else wouldnt try something to get by on.they have rules for a reason and everyone who fishes in this tournament gets a copy of them.i hate it for the crew but if they get by then whats the use of having rules.

No, it was somebody not playing by the rules. Instead of the owner of a Citation, you would just crap and fall back in it.

Only a IT'S NOT MY FAULT., I AM A SUE HAPPY FOOL, would say that.

You "Blame everyone but the person who's fault it is" fools, are just a waste of oxygen. No reason to to be alive.
