Yeah went to the special screening last night and I know alot of people were disappointed....What a joke,I mean I know a guy that was paid $1800.00 to act as a fisherman and he was'nt even in it.

Then Pablo Shcrieber plays a local fisherman and he acts like he is tarded LOL ...I mean come on what a disgrace even if partly true!!!
Really when it all boils down , Not a lot of locals were actually in the movie and I know I was let down as well.

You will notice the house in Rodanthe which probably right now has 5' of surf under it and you will notice a helicopters view of the ocracoke ferry, some Banker ponies and some sand on the road.....OH yeah and the Rodanthe Pier and a 10 sec scene of a local singer/band old man.
A black woman plays the owner of the INN, OH like that is a true representation of the outer banks.
Come ON, this movie BITES!!! 2 thumbs way down!!

Sorry you feel the movie was not a good representation of Bankers. Was there anything positive about the movie? I still want to see it and revisit places I have not been to in several years.

At first I could not decide if it was a good movie or not. I was caught up in the fact that it was filmed here and locals were in it. That was all exciting but when I take away that it was not that great. It does show some great beauty of our beaches though. I am going to have to see it again to decide. I am interested to see what others thought. It was a great experience for many.

I really hope to read more posts about this--good, bad, or otherwise. But, I also hope some report that they actually liked the movie.

Regardless of the less-than-positive reviews, I still want to see this movie. I think in order to better appreciate the beauty of the Banks on film (it still doesn't compare to seeing it up close and personal!), it will be better on a large screen than on the small screen once it hit DVD.

I will have to see for myself. I think it will be interesting to see our home town on the big screen. It might be disappointing but I still want to see for myself!

My sister & I just saw the film and we loved it! We were actually there when they were filming the ferry scene! The movie made us want to get in the car & go back then & there. Husbands and kids at home be damned. We came to our senses though and decided we would have to wait till May again! Love the lower banks (especially Ocracoke) and can't wait to get back!!

She probably knows that your response should have looked like this... "Yeah, right. You don't know anything."
I hope that you didn't get your education from Dare County public schools.

I saw the movie last week and it definitely peeked my interest to visit your lovely area. I started searching the area the next day and am planning to visit in July. I love Nicholas Sparks books so if anything this may bring more tourist to your area and help the economy in your area. We usually visit Myrtle Beach in the summer but I am excited to visit your area. If anyone can give me feedback on areas of interest that I need to visit in your area please let me know...condos, restaurants, activities to do I would gratefully appreciate it.

The combo of author & area was quite intriguing. As a true carolinian i was proud & supportive of the representation. And the Inn is mysterious & Awesome! Cozy, but thrilling. The scene w/ the banker ponies was very touching & dramatic. What a Rush! Thanx 4 keep'in it real!
