The Coast Guard and Navy worked together Sunday morning to return a rescued man to shore after his sailboat sank about 250 nautical miles east of Cape Hatteras, N.C. The Coast Guard received a satellite distress signal at 5:07 p.m. Saturday from the sailboat Gloria A Dios.

It makes it easier to remember the feeling of saying goodbye that same day to the shipmembers aboard the Eisenhower that morning. Looking a the little children saying goodbye to their parents was very hard. To think that night they saved a life makes it a little easier. A navy mom.
