Sound Off: "From Obama's initial speech about taking bin Laden out to the "60 Minutes" interview last night, he has never taken credit but praised the Seals and intelligence team for getting bin Laden."

Even though I dislike Obama, he does deserve some credit as he is the one who authorized the operation. For that he does get some kudos.

"We have a great national power grid. Why do we not have a national fresh water grid? We could be shipping tens of millions of fresh, clean water from the flood-ravaged Midwest to the West Coast and to the drought-infected area."

Apples and oranges, however it could be done. It would be the accomplishment of a generation, but what a legacy it would leave.

It would require massive government spending, but much like the New Deal Programs, it would put a whole lot of Americans back to work. Let's build things again, and what a great place to start!!!

"I read Congressman Pearce's long letter regarding the killing of Osama bin Laden. Nowhere in his letter does he give a minuscule amount of credit to President Obama. This is typical Pearce partisan claptrap."

You two should get together for coffee.

The Liberal Democrat party is working toward making Hispanics as dependent on government as the blacks in America. Low achievement in schools, unwed mothers, broken families. Just a few more years of voting straight democrat and the culture I used to admire will be gone and replaced with a liberal voting block to join the blacks.

As for Obama authorizing the operation to get Bin Laden, I'm surprised he didn't vote PRESENT, as he did as a U.S. Senator on every major issue that came up! All the credit goes to our Navy Seals and Military personell!

You're argument is not only logically flawed, but also reveals that your probably an a**h**e. Did it ever occour to you that these women left their hubbys or bf because it was the best thing for their kids? You shouldn't go around trying to piss off half the population...

How are red-light cameras deemed unconstitutional? It's not an invasion of privacy; they're merely trying to catch the speeders

The US constitution says you have the right to face your accuser..I have yet to see them take the cameras into court to be questioned.

Dig it, amigo.

The very term 'liberal' was coined to describe antiwar, anti state control, pro self government and personal responsibility free market extremists.

It was usurped. The Ds are about as 'liberal' as the Rs are capitalist

Teach physics and engineering in schools?! What? No way, we'd have to cut out diversity training or ebonics.

About the Red Light Camera comment, and it's legality.

Number one: The way it is written you are probably a "shill/troll" for Red-flex. They are known to run a positive item every so often in the local papers,so as to make it seem like everyone loves the system.

If this is not the case, and for the general public's sake the reason it is unconstitutional it is a for profit private company being used for law enforcement, which has warped the legal structure for its own benefit. And has tarnished the Council, Mayor, and Traffic Engineer reputations as in every town & City they have set up shop.

We do not have a "great" national power grid. It was conceived and constructed during a far different time, when there was nowhere near as much power demand. It's antiquated and inefficient. That's why we're trying to build the smart grid.

As for the fresh water grid, it's a good idea -- in theory. The cost to create the infrastructure to facilitate it would NEVER get support in today's deficit-ridden political climate. Maybe 50 years ago, but not any time soon in this country.

A water pipeline is a good idea. We built the Erie Canal, the Panama Canal. In the 70s an oil pipeline was built from Alaska.

We could achieve this. Not all that hard. Now the question is where's the money.

Should we fund tea pot museums or a water pipeline. Planned parenthood or a water pipeline? Another aguatics center or a water pipeline? Another RailRunner or a water pipeline?

We spend a lot of money on discretionary projects, the question is what are our priorities.

Orville, this comment about teaching physics and engineering is not worthy of you! All kids do any more is skill and drill for reading and math...diversity is not content and ebonics is ancient news. I typically love the way you think, but please learn more about education or stick to what you know.

Really??
I am a single mom with two kids who is not on any type of assistance. I provide all insurance and support for my kids with no child support. Not a good idea to assume that all people follow the same path and do not own up to their responsibilities. I have gotten that look many times when people find out I am a single mom, but I support my kids better than some married couples. Honestly it's just kind of rude to make dumb comments like that!

The decision to take out Bin Laden was a FN "no brainer", which is why Obama was capable of making it.

Not rude....hate-filled ignoance. Just a symptom of 20+ years of fear-mongering by hate radio and the Reich-wing oligarchs.

Food stamp usage increased damn near 20% after the Great RepubliCon financial disaster which increased the cost to about $60 Billion a year.

Dubya & the RepubliCONs' ill advised, budget busting, surplus destroying, debt tax- give-a-way to the richest 2% of the country costs $60 billion a year.

Dubya's illegal and immoral Iraqi fiasco cost $100 billion a year

And the bombs we buy for NATO to make Libyan orphans are free. Pres O willed them into existence.

Also, that $600,000,000,000 that O's puppet masters at the Fed created this year was free. None of that value came out of your labor, savings, or ingenuity. Pres. O magically created the value of those greenbacks and magnanomously granted it evenly to the entire economy.

Go away bigot. Warmonger. Classist.
