Sign of the times

A new proposal for doling out the educational dollars from a DoA a Ana County spaceport sales tax calls for expanding the recipients to include charter schools, New Mexico State University and the community college, in addition to the area's three public school districts.

I am confident that all issues will be worked out. The primary concern for the BOCC (Board of County Commissioners) is that the money be spent to help students. As the responsible party, the BOCC is taking careful steps to make sure that our agreement between the public school districts and the county follows the law requiring that this money be spent on "spaceport related projects."
