This is getting very interesting the more that unfolds. So not only has the other brother been caught, he's a repeat offender and may be on probation as well, plus goes by another name. Getting better than a good soap opera and makes me wonder just how many more people in Columbus were involved, related or not to all the other people that have been caught so far.. This would make for a good book, soon to be a movie.

we notice how all these operations have lots of family members. what does this prove? that usually we figure our own will not rat on us. but eventually they get caught, or do they learn?

If all the corrupt people leave, it would be a ghost town, then Palomas Cartel would really take over, then they'd be even closer to Deming, sort of a trickle effect.

I don't think so. These greedy thugs have NOT been protecting Columbus from the Palomas cartel. They'd never protect anything except their money or their own di ck's. I think actually they ARE probably the Palomas cartel, as La Linea cartel has taken over Palomas. Or else maybe they are now working for La Linea but on this side. I would be interested in hearing from others about this.

It is common knowledge that the current mayor in Palomas works for La Linea cartel, and he is aka El Ceboyo aka Spider.

But don't you see these mafiosos on this side are not protecting Columbus at all. They are bringing the violence closer to us!

Those many Palomas families in Columbus who are good people and just trying to escape the nightmare in Palomas were driven to Columbus by the violence caused by ALL the thugs on both sides of the cartel war.

Our only protection seems to be whatever private protection those of us as individuals who can bear arms can do to defend ourselves, and whatever protection by the police we can get, which frankly doesn't seem much at this point.

I know there are people who have actually been threatened and had to leave Columbus and have picked up and fled, leaving everything, to the astonishment of their landlords. How protected is that?

If these corrupt families are completely crushed by the feds, and I hope they are, Columbus has a much better chance of becoming a place where people can work together to make it a better place, without fear of saying the wrong thing and ending up on a mafia family's hatelist.

That's what makes a good town. Not a bunch of padrinos.
