The people most guilty of tailgating and endangering others are our local friendly traffic cops. These people love driving up behind you and getting within proximity of you not being able to see their headlights. Ticket? Yes, give 'em a ticket. If a civilian is tailgating, they become a candidate for a ticket of following too closely. Why are cops not subject to the same rule?

Where did you purchase (or steal) such nonsense? If you want to smell the roses, you must first wake up. Oh well.

Negative. It is a very well known scare tactic used by the PD. You drive up very close behind anyone and you tailgate them for as long as they can stand to ignore you or make a mistake or slam on the brakes and let you pile into them. This is super common in Las Cruces.

Las crucens don't typically engage much in the forums or you could poll the masses to see how many have been tailgated by our dumbest. Matter of fact, just happened to me last night then he pretended to turn. Dumb dumb dumb.

Absolutley incorrect. Law enforcement rarely tailgate, unless on a freeway and are trying to get you out of their way and into a slower lane. I always drive 5 under the speed limit every where You don't like it I blow you a kiss. In case of an accident the tailgater is always at fault.

Just pay attention and you see it as a regular practice in this place. It's a nice intimidation strategy. No reason to tailgate in the city or on the highway. It's simply irresponsible.
