Being proud to be a Tiwa is fine, even if it is really 1/64 or your great great grandfather/grandmother was actually an Indian, but lying to NMSU, the City of Las Cruces, the Sun News, St. Genevieve's, and all the people in town about being a "tribe" is something else.

You cant invent a tribe that started in 1998. That's not a tribe, that's a club or dance group, or non profit corporation, not an Indian Nation.

It seems as though those who are worried about other tribes are lacking in in their own tribe's worth. It as though a tribe must get permission from the enemy to be officially Native. Sound like bureaucratic bull shit to me. It is a popularity contest, where family feuds are the game. Indians are the demise of themselves because they can't agree on a single thing. My wife is from this tribe and she has her card, but knows nothing of her tribe. Not even this inner conflict. Is she an indian. Probably not. I think it is a shame. People are trying to preserve their identities while others seek to dismantle it. Sounds like what non natives have been doing since the battle for the Americas began.

It's not an inner conflict.

Some people who were never involved with the tribe before 1990s got together and slightly changed the name of the real tribe and formed their own rump group. That way they can get donations and speaking fees and dancing fees from organizations in Las Cruces. It's a scam; these people are delusional.

It's also about right and wrong, and identity theft and stealing. Just because some tells a lie over and over again, even if they sound angry or sincere or like to play the victim, doesnt make it true.

Educate yourself.

Here are the links to the BIA information, look at New Mexico petitions; this group started in 2002, they are phony; it's a traveling dance troupe, not an Indian tribe.

The feds aren't government they're bankers. "Federal reserve", they're also not an authority on who's who, and who's not who they say they are. Peace to the Mansos. Everyone find peace within yourselves.

I HOPE YOU ARE A MORE PEACEFUL PIRO MANSO TIWA THAN MY STEPFATHER (NARCISO ERES) WHO IS HAILED AS A HERO, WHEN IN LIFE HE WAS AN ABUSIVE, VIOLENT MAN TO MY MOTHER TIL HER DEATH, AND TO ALL HIS CHILDREN THROUGHOUT OUR LIVES. KEEP IT REAL

They practice many ancient indigenous customs:

1. Tagging walls with "Puros Lokos"
2. Messing up the hydralics of old model Buicks
3. Watching Dallas Cowboys games while drinking Bud Light
4. Going to Pros Ranch Market
5. Beating the crap out of their "hynas"

This is not a federally recognized tribe but a self proclaimed tribe. Hence a female governor. That will never happen on a native ameican traditional tribe.
You're the one who sounds like a wannabe. Ever hear of Wilma Mankiller or don't you recognize the Cherokee as "real Indians?"
Wilma Mankiller was the first woman elected principal chief of the Cherokee Nation. She works to improve the lives of Native Americans by helping them receive better education and health care and urges them to preserve and take pride in their traditions.

Who is ANYONE to judge who is Native? Certainly NOT imbeciles like Bob or others who state they are "real Indians" while putting down the PMT.

I'm Manso through my grandmother and my grandfather was Ndee. I'm Native whether or not you agree or whether or not you like it.
