Unions are for losers!
Where else could you submit funds to fat cat
labor leaders who have nothing more than their
and their slug politicians interests.

Your money is sent to any cause the top considers in their interest - not their interest in the
common working man.

Give us a break - you know unions are libtard
contribution cesspools.

If you have to belong to a union you are a loser!
Look at Detroit to find out what unions do?

This must mean that 99 percent of jobs in NM will get a raise, effectively meaning nothing to the standard of living.

NM, especially Las Cruces needs to work on getting industry jobs. WSMR is dwindling. Losing something like 40 percent of its work in a handful of years. It's a matter of time before there's very little to move there for. Pretty little town. Expensive houses and no indistry.

Yep and with the progressive dumb as craps at the helm of the
City things will only get worse.

Spend, spend, spend - existing systems have no money for them and
they go hello and a handbasket while the City Manager hires another 2-3 Assistants at near six figure incomes.

What a wonderful place!

Somehow, I don't get the feeling that you were an english major in college either.

I have to say that Las Cruces is a pretty disappointing place. It's a nice town with nothing in it. Those clowns up at wsmr have been losing work consistently for years. What will happen to this sleepy little town when wsmr dries up? I suppose that there is always welfare.

I will not claim to be an english major either. Don't measure brilliance by spelling or grammer mistakes. I know many near geniuses who cannot spell. You can hardly call them dumb.

Based on New Mexico's place in the nation for education (I think we are 49th now) I have an idea to prevent the impact of minimum wages on the the New Mexico economy.

Everyone that can count to new proposed minimum wage gets it.

Everyone that cannot count to the new minumum wages does not get it.

Problem solved as only about 10% of New Mexico high school graduates will be able to qualify for the new minimum wage.

Keep passing 3rd graders (and seniors for that matter that actually make it to graduation before dropping out) that cannot read and that is what you get. Second to lowest in the nation.

New Mexico's slogan needs to change from "land of enchantment" to "setting the bar lower" thanks to our legislators.

Take a page from Scottsdale,AZ and Chandler,AZ. Small business, tourism and high tech jobs provide the infrastructure to improve the quality of high paying jobs and the quality of life for its residents....on a permanent basis.

They have some of the lowest paying RN jobs in the country.I have spoken with some the graduating RN students who only go to NMSU because of the lower education cost and take their degree to a better paying market.
I think it's more of the mentality over the years that has kept Las Cruces from really breaking out of their ghetto wage stigma.

Las Cruces is an over-priced town with no future. Minimum wage is all there is, unless you came from elsewhere to retire.

Yep,

The adminstor at Dona Branch Community College making 6 figures managed to loose accredidation for the nursing program with pleanty of time to correct the problem.

Nursing program at Alamo NMSU on the verge of loosing accredidation as well.

NMSU president just resigned after a "closed" meeting with the Board of Regents and gets a nice $500K golden parachute in the process.

Loosing worthless football coach and NMSU second highest paid employee at NMSU.

Can tell you who makes a lot of the money in Las Cruces.

Worthless A**holes in high managment at the university that do not deserve it!!!!!

NMSU - A university made to serve its management only!!!!!!!!!!

Same with the city and county. Cut working personnel and give the upper folks bonus money.

If people think only CEOs of companies are scr*wing the public they need to look at these administrators and politicians.

Not the same school I went to 30 some year ago. It has turned into a toilet attracking all the worst elements into it's management

no one in New Mexico knows the difference between "lose" and "loose" - even among those that allegedly went to college?

Not an english major.

Acutally decided to pick a usefull degree like Engineering.

We have a PhD english professor that writes in the Las Cruces Sun News and shows his lack of reason and knowledge every time he does.

But his grammer and spelling are correct!!!!

Whatever the market will allow? Anytime the government gets involved prices will invariably go up. Thereby hurting the very people they, the liberal feel good morons in government, are trying to help. The level of economic ignorance in this country is beyond scary. Do you honestly think Wally Mart really cares what the minimum wage is? It's kind of kind corporate taxes, they just pass it on as a cost of doing business, erasing any benefit of the increased minimum wage.
This is exactly what I said earlier. Increased wages increase consumer prices. The cost of living increases with the cost of labor. What is accomplished is pricing us out of the world market. Example: cost of foreign cars vs. ours (also in quality). Unions were good in the 20s'& 30s'. Now they're a racket manipulated by money manipulating thugs.

unions are a cancer on this country. The vast majority of this country already works for more than minimum wage. It's a vote getter for the democrats is all it is..
