Carlos, why didn't you just say the food was blah and/or lousy, and it matched all of the other so-called Chinese restaurants here in Lost Causes?

Vocab word of the day: obsequious
*hoot* It's not that the food is remarkable, or otherwise noteworthy, or that the atmosphere provides a high degree of stimulation, which it doesn't. It's a matter of price and efficiency.
*holding my sides* Priced around $5, the total meal when split in half comes out to around $2.50 a person. It may be elementary mathematics that only students may be concerned with, but the value is clear numbers don't lie.
*putting it on a t-shirt* One person's idea of a feast may be another's recipe for a Pepto Bismol-filled night. Ultimately, an individual must decide whether to forego quality in lieu of price and quantity.
*Is this guy for real? He just sold me on the teriyaki chicken* As a staple in most Asian restaurants, fast food chains and five-star restaurants alike, the fried rice was an easy standout, when compared to the doughy noodles.
While Golden Star might not get high marks for innovation or refinement, it does, however, speak to an audience, a hungry one at that, looking for fast and affordable food a value, either way you look at it.*Unless you have to spring for the pink bi$muth night cap, and then the food won't just speak to a hungry audience; it will sound the thunder bowl for the whole household*
The traffic filling the lot is evidence enough that the Golden Star is worth a visit. Lopez trying to plug his pal's restaurant in this review is evidence enough that we need a replacement to write the column.

My wife and I ate at Golden China the other night, and neither of us was impressed with the quality of the food or the service. The staff didn't listen to our order and piled on 30 pounds of fried rice (we ordered white rice), then proceeded to cover everything with a extremely weak "plum sauce" (you could read through it).
We will not be going back there.

Thirty pounds! Did you eat all of it?

I pity the fool who took a picture they found on reddit and said they found out this great place was the source from which it originated.
If a local high school teacher had to break the news to a student/employee and did not use google image search to find out this was a prank that originated thousands of miles away, how can we expect the community to critically evaluate what they hear?
I've only been once but the quality of service, food and cleanliness was far better than any other local buffet in town. How can people be so gullible?
If you liked this place before the lie started to spread, keep eating there. I pity the fool who falls for such nonsense.
