Micro Managing Emmaus

Just watch an Emmaus Boro meeting. No wonder they can not keep a Manager and have turnover. Their council is way to involved in day to day activities and clearly micro manages to the point of suffocation. Emmaus Council member should visit South Whitehall, Upper Saucon, Salisbury to see how Council meetings should be run and how Councils should interact with its manager. Bruce was and is a class act. Emmaus should have done everything in its power to keep him, even changing its culture of micro managing!

when Lower Macungie and just about every other township can hire a manager for 100k+, a great manager in Emmaus will leave for a better paying opportunity int he area when it is available to them. Emmaus needs to pay their manager more to remain competitive and keep their employees

Micro Managing is right. As a former Emmaus employee council does not allow their TRAINED department heads run their departments. If they did things would work better.

Micro managing? Except when it comes to what residents need. Ask them to look into an issue and they table it or move it to some borough dept, never to be heard about again. They wanted sidewalks, we raised concerns to be addressed. Now that sidewalks are off the table, i guess our concerns are not important now.

And there just may be other employees and department heads leaving. It seems they don't spend money too wisely sometimes and micro-managing does seem to happen.
