There has been a recent article stating that Southerners are not fixing their pets compared to the rest of the country. I just can't find the article right now.

I can't believe it took 6 months to investigate this henious abuse and, to add insult to injury, to classify it as "Not a High Priority" is unforgivable !!!!

Jeffrey Dahmer started out this way but even less severe. These two should be watched, monitored or locked up where they can't do it again. They soon tire of animals and turn to humans. Sick people in this world folks.

we were the neighbors that reported this abuse. the sheriff's office didn't want to do anything about it because we were new to the area - not a "lifer" down here in Newton County - THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN THE TREATMENT YOU RECEIVE. We did continue to file reports - constantly. We were shot at by those people - they live in close proximity to our home and own all the surrounding land. They always knew when we were home - but we never knew when they were, until the kid started shooting at us - every day - all day long. Sheriff never did anything about that either. That kid attacked my husband and left him wheelchair bound and never received any charges... his mother caused a roll-over accident the day she tried to "spirit away" the kid's gun after he held my husband in our house for 4.5 hours shooting at it. When my medicated - wheelchair bound husband had to go and pick up our kids off the school bus, and the kid was still shooting - the Sheriff's office told him to stay in the house... to leave our kids to walk home in a hail of gunfire! No - he didn't do that, and on the way back to the house, the kid's mother stopped in the middle of the county road - just over a hump where she couldn't be seen and caused my husband and both of our kids to be involved in a roll-over accident - which my husband was ticketed for - not them, no her.

Animal cruelty laws have been changed in AR & that's a good thing. What really sucks about all of this is - a family lost everything - kids were psychologically traumatized to the point where as soon as they could move they did. A man, who did the work of ten men - who couldn't tolerate the killing and heinous abuse that was going on - lost the ability to use his arms and legs because of this same kid - who spent only 10 months in a juvenile detention center - only to be let out right back into the same household - and six months to the day of his release from those animal abuse charges - he shot the leg off of our pet cat, Percival G. Willikers, right in front of my husband. When reported - nothing was done, again, by the NCSO. They've gotten more funding - they have more men on the force now then they had then - they still don't listen to us - they still don't make stories like these priority. Someone needs to step in and help - someone needs to say thanks to us for what hell we've lived through - thanks to my husband, who lost everything. We tried so hard to help those poor dogs and cats, deer, chickens, cows, horses - you name the animal and that kid went after it. I read what you all thought about the story - but you didn't live it. We did - and it ruined our lives. I even work for the county!!! What good did that do us? This kid is still out there clanging and banging around in our society - free as a bird, with the use of all of his limbs and a new shiny red truck to drive and a girlfriend - and no real record, because it all happened before he turned 18. So there you have it. The whole story. If you are interested in a copy of this video or just want to say thanks, or help us - P.O. Box 83, Hasty, AR 72640

My husband suffered almost as much as those poor dogs did. To this day, he remains angry over the blatant mistreatment he received from those who were sworn to serve and protect citizens of this county - citizens that pay taxes that pay their salaries. There is no justice in Newton County Arkansas.

Wow I would like to say I am surprised but I am not. There is within Arkansas a rule that is kept most sacred. Not to inforce the law especially if outsiders are the victims. As you can tell from this story they dont care how much harm the local does. Its totally about if you are born there or not. I wonder how many were run off and how many were murdered and never listed as murder victims just ignored and forgotten. No amount of complainging or publicizing will alter this injustice. Either move out or learn to live in a state of war. Do what you have to do.
