PIKEVILLE, Ky.ó On Monday, an anonymous caller provided 911 with information of a possible drug transaction on South Mayo Trail in Pikeville. The tip resulted in the arrest of a wv resident who was allegedly transporting a large amount of illegal drugs into the county to be sold.
As units from the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 9 Criminal Interdiction Team (CIT) arrived on scene, they witnessed an apparent drug transaction. Post 9 CIT units made contact with the occupant of the vehicle and proceeded to conduct a search of the interior and contents. An undisclosed amount of illegal prescription narcotics and what is believed to cocaine and marijuana were located in the defendantís vehicle.
teddy j Hoosier, of accoile, wv., was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center. Hoosier was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st Degree; trafficking in a controlled substance, 2nd Degree; trafficking in a controlled substance, 3rd Degree; and trafficking in marijuana.
This incident remains under investigation by KSP Trooper Zach Bryson. Trooper Bryson was assisted on scene by TFC Jay Perkins and TFC Bo Cure.
