I agree with the elimination of property tax, but don't see any reason for the age 70 crap. If you buy a house you pay taxes on it when you purchase it. All the rest gets eaten up by local governments that squander it on stuff that they wouldn't get approval to do through the state. Why? Because most of it doesn't hold merit in developing anything except the gold lining in local wanna b a politicians pockets. Come on Snyder quit screwing around and take control of your house! Property tax, whipe it off the board! In a down turned economy the last thing you need is the eviction of good citizens from their homes do to failure to pay property taxes. Lots of potential home owners won't by a home because it doesn't make sense cost wise as taxes adds an extra $200 a month to their rent payments.$200 a month going into someone's pockets (not yours). If they did buy then taxes are paid at purchase, do the math that's millions of dollars that could be going in your pockets. And you get praised for it, lets face it you could use a pat on the back and a "that a boy" to give your road bill momentum. So step up and make a difference! its a win win.

I agree. The new michigan has to change and separate ways from old Michigan. Giving our state money to detroit because of them electing corrupt politicians isn'tfair. Many cities downriver need nrw public school buildings to keep up with poorer cities who have modern public schools like lorain ohio. Over 80% was funded by Ohio. Michigan needs to make sure cities/ counties spend money wisely. The state gets involved when too late . Detroit is only one city example. Cities that don't allocate taxes for modern public schools should be scrutinized by state. Taylor, wyandotte, etc have aging high schools. Taylor just got more students from inkster. Where r they going to fit them all?

But that's exactly what Ohio did is give Lorain 81% of the new HS cost. Lorain Commissioner Michael Ross was found guilty of corruption just like our Wayne County crew. Now you want Wayne County to go it alone because you are disgruntled with management. Elect somebody else or run for office. Schools have long been regarded as a state function. You want to starve the kids because you are somehow attached at the hip with Ohio. Ice is not colder in Lorain, Ohio. You can't make up your mind. Please don't vote or reproduce.

Hey, i have alot more logic than many goofballs in southeast mi. I'm sure there is more corruption in souheast mMichigan than in lorain/ elyria.many of these people r spoiled brats like in taylor.they tried blaming lamarand for faults of this city when it goes way back even as township. The # 1 priority should be public schools. Taylor and many cities have it on their lowest priority list.how can u build a city with crumbling school buildings. U r building up to my exact point.lorain is rather poorer but have state or art public school buildings.yet they build newer courthouse, fire station, sportsplex, lakes of taylor.these r not what people notice first when movong to city. I actually heard man saying many moonsago that he wanted to move to taylortucky, but the public schools therein preventedhim from moving because of poor pperformance.
As far as me rreproducing, I'm sure your parents r proud of u?
This is all constructivecriticism. YThe way taylor and many cities r, they will never get finer public school buildings like lorain because there is no plan in place. Keep city payroll high and kerp patching up buildings! I never chose to move to taylor in October 1977 to go to taylor center from southview high in lorain. My parents made drastic mistakes

And in taylor after the smoke cleared, i actuallygrew rrespect for mayor lamarand. Je tried to go against the good ole boy network in taylortucky.the judge threatened to have him thrown in jai . For delaying accepting $8.1 million for safer grant to get laid off unneeded fire fighters back on job in august 2012.judge even forward it to wayne county prosecutor office! This is a waste of fedetal dollars. Wayne mi in december 2010 had laidoff fitefighters assist with gas explosion at ffurniture store, not picketing as in taylor in august 2012.
I would like to see statute of jeffrey lamarand in front of taylor city hall! Lol

57% of people voted Jeffrey out.
The judge ruled against him.
But you can still follow him on Facebook.

The recall failed.
And someone even tried to compare him to kwame kilpatrick.please! At phillips restaurant in taylor on ecorse in fall of 2011 they had a.pamphlet on his misbehaving. Do many of these people that run this city actually live in Taylor? City council and the judge seem like they keep a stranglehold on positive change in many ways. Lets keep on doing what we've done wrong in past.
