Parents fear for missing daughter, 17

Village Center of the Arts co-owner Jayson Roberts is desperate to find his teenage daughter, who apparently ran off with friends over the weekend.

The police should never assume that she left on her own. That happened with my niece Maryann Measles. Wake up New Milford P.D!!! 10 years tomorrow. I hope this girl is safe and I will pray she comes home.

I am very sorry that you are going through this. My sister Maryann was murdered Oct 19, 1997 (10 years tomorrow) and we went through this not knowing stuff for 9 months til she was found. I pray to god for her safe return to your family and that this turns out better then our situation. I'll keep you in my prayers.

What a horrible thing to do to parents. I'm sure there is nothing more frightning than not knowing where your child is and if they are safe. If this is a case of her running away, she should be ashamed.

I am Megan's boyfriend, and I just want everyone to know that a lot of this information is wrong. She did not run off with friends, her phone service was not cancelled (the phone died), and she very well could be in serious danger.

As for the person who claims that no foul play is involved, all I have to say is that no one knows what happened for sure. She has never pulled anything like this in the past, especially without any contact at all. I can't believe she has been missing for a week later tonight.. I'm extremely stressed out and a nervous wreck. As are her parents, all of our friends, and anyone else who knows her. None of us want to hear your rude comments, so please keep them to yourself. And to be quite honest, I nor anyone else close to her appreciates your slandering and lack of concern. You don't know the details about this situation, so don't just shrug this off and downplay it because you think you know her and know everything.. Because I'll tell you this, you don't know anything. If you aren't concerned or have nothing supportive to say, then please don't say anything.

As for everyone else, thank you so much for your concern and support. It means more to everyone involved in finding her than you can ever imagine.

How about the time she took the train to Grand Central and the cops escorted her back to CT after they pulled her off the train?

Come on you guys! This is for comments on the missing young lady....not a place to chit chat and slam each other!
Either way of what ever any one knows of the 17 yr old...think as a parent.....if your child? Wouldn't you be frntic too? No matter what...if she has faults or not...she is still a human and someone's daughter! Have no clue what the parents are going through...and hope to God I never will. Hope she is safe.....as mentioned, let's not forget what happened 10 years ago....
Let's all have some compassion for the family.....a prayer for her safety and that she either contacts her family, friends or returns home!

Charlie...people are going to not say nice things, its part a life. get a grip.

as for the missing girl, if she really didnt run away I hope she makes it home safe. If she did run away I hope she gets caught and gets in trouble. Scaring parents friends and family like that is not cool. An entire community is worried about her. None of us really know what happened because we don't know what happens behind closed doors. Hopefully she is unharmed.

Why aren't the schools involved? Not one word of this has been mentioned at New Milford High School. She may not be a student there anymore but many students remember her and are worried about her. Typical lack of communication from the HS administration.

She hasn't done anything like this before.. The NY incident lasted what, a few hours? There was contact made and concrete sightings. This has been a week with no serious leads or tips, thus it is extremely serious. We will see who should apologize to who when she comes back.

And I'm sorry if I seem upset or angry.. When someone very close to you is missing you kind of lose your grip on things. I would like to see how anyone else would act in the same situation. No one knows for sure what happened, but we will find out soon enough.

George.. Sadly, the schools and police really aren't much help. We are the ones trying to find her and work nonstop. Some people that go to NMHS were going to try to put up some fliers there. Hopefully they can do it, we've been putting fliers everywhere else to get as much exposure as possible.

I checked back tonight to see if there was any updates,I'm sorry there is not any news.Are the state police involved or just new milford? As for people saying stuff, I can say that the internet will definatly test your patience.I still lose it when people run thier mouths.Just try to ignore them.Its hard. This is a serious issue and people don't understand what it feels like.Especially when you get no help from police. I don't know if its the same in this case but I can tell you that for 9 months new milford police dept did nothing.Maryann 13 yrs oldwas labeled a runaway, and she was killed 10 years ago today.I hope and pray you are getting help and she is not labeled as a runaway.Just don't think the worst and know that people are praying for her safe return.

the police really aren't doing much. We've been in contact on a regular basis with new haven, new milford, and state police in litchfield.

the things she wrote on myspace was back a few months, before she got a little better emotionally.

im her best friend and i've seen a world of transformation in megan these past few months. shes grown a lot and is a much better person then when i first met her years ago.

it's been over a week now. we're all getting verrry scared. thank you all for ur concern and prayers. the support during this time means more to us than any of you can imagine.

I think people need to stop assuming, this is something that should be taken seriously, because obviously Megans friends and family are taking it seriously. As others have said it is a reminder of Maryann Measles case, who was a friend of mine in middle school. Police did not think her case had anything to do with foul-play, and look where it ended.

Its been about a week, and no one has any idea where she is. This is not normal for a young girl to not tell her friends where she is.

Her boyfriend is right, she could be in serious danger.
