The resident trooper needs to be congrajulated on doing an excellent job in arresting this rustler.
That heifer could have been a 4H project heifer of a child.
Too bad he was a neighbor Harwinton is a close knit community and he will be ostracized for his crime. I can't wait to see why he did it other than being hungry and greedy. Take away all his guns
The cow pasture was in a landlocked area. Who else could have done it.

This guy is an honest, upstanding Harwinton resident who's being prematurely judged.Remember he's innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The news reports are probably inaccurate. This will probably play out as being another ludicrous accusation besmirching a man's good name.

What the helllllll is this world coming to? Stealing peoples calfs, watching the God awful Wendy Williams show, drug dealers cutting each other up over dope, priests playing with little boys, people drowning on daily basis? Why do I read this stuff?

I need a good book, because reality has reached an all time low.

The accused kept changing his story line about the scenario when qestioned. If he stuck with the same line; he would have not been arrested. He had a history of hunting on the farmer's property and lived next door to a landlocked farm property which is well hidden. No one knew cows were kept there.
Get the facts before you cast the first stone. You are right about innocent until proved guilty.
The farmer meanwhile is out of a heifer and will not be reimbursed for its loss for quite a while while this case drags through the court system.

The accused never changed his story , because his lawyer told him not to comment. The judicial system will eventually determine the true culprit, who's yet to discovered. Any number of scenerios are possible. The accused is a farmer sympathetic to all animals; he has an animal farm for christ's sake.I know him; he hunts deer, and only deer.

Not sure you're correct about the accused having admitted hunting on Audette's property. Perhaps he crossed the territory, bit I'm sure he respects private property. As for now, Mariani is INNOCENT!!He didn't ever hunt on the man's property.

I suspect one of the other cows.
could have been a jealous rage, fight over money, bovine peer pressure, maybe one of the others had a beef with it. lets wait to see if any other indictments come down.
I've never herd of such a thing. I bet the press milks this out. mariani seems to be on the horns of a dilemma, if not a holstein. its udder nonsense to accuse him.

Great post Moe.

Suspect this "hunter" was being charged by this calf and being in fear of his life shot and butchered it.
"There you mean ole calf, take that."

Hopefully part of the punishment if the accused is found guilty will be to recompense the losses.

Why does this criminal's lawyer apply for Accelerated Rehabilitation. He should not get A.R.
DEP should take his firearms away.

I may be wrong, but doesn't the owner have to post the land? If it's not posted, it's OK to hunt.

What a rotten human being, maybe he should be shipped to an island and chased by cannibals.

If I am correct the hunter must get the landowner's permission before hunting his property.
That is a Liberal hunting attitude. If I gain access to your property I can hunt it.
Close your eyes and you are invisible. I suggest you read the DEP Hunting manual first.
