I hope they will be ok. It sounds like a case of driving too slow!

The news just reported that the driver was 15, one passenger was also 15 and the other was 14! WHAT???? 1 am in the morning and the child driving isn't old enough to drive by themselves! And why are they out at that time of the morning? Where were the parents?? I hope charges are filed against the parents of all three children. This is crazy!

The mother of one of these kids lives down the street from me... a child will only mimic what she learns from her parental units so the blame is not really that far.

Responsibility lies with the driver. Passing the buck for individual behavior is not the solution. 15 is plenty old enough to know right from wrong. The other two should have buckled up and they own responsibility for not doing that. The driver should be prosecuted. Having said that, I hope they recover and get on with their lives.

I don't agree that children only mimic their parents some teens are determined to rebel at any cost. I witnessed that with an older sibling and my parents were wonderful people that I never even witnessed take a drink much less do any drugs. I do believe the girl that was driving should be held responsible. From what I have heard the teens all snuck out and I pray that I never have to go through this kind of stuff with my own kids.
