Wait, so you cut your hair to soak up the oil to save the water, then you wash the hair. You. wash. the. hair. Wait, I thought we were trying to save water? Well, at least the fish in the gulf will be happy.:-) lol... before anyone starts- I understand and am just being silly, so... in all seriousness, I cut my own hair, where can I drop it off?

The blowout rule, the fact that it was lifted in April 2008 for rigs that didn't fit at least one of five conditions, and confusion about whether the BP Deepwater Horizon project was covered by the regulation, caught the attention of Interior Secretary Ken Salazar.

Guess what it was under the Bush and Cheney (Big Oil Men) regime and they should be blamed for the non regulation.

Grow up and put the blame where it needs to be - the DUMB___ right including all the Drill Baby Drill Palintards and Cheney/Bush Hypocrites.

Vote term limits and throw out all life time politicians.

Does anyone know what chemicals from the various hair products are being put in the ecosystems? Having the BP oil is better than alot of the chemicals from the hair products. Just stop it!
Now if you really want to help with oil spill, please visit my website (hptt: anythingforabuck.com ) and buy all the useless **** you can't afford on your credit card.
If you thank about it, where ever the hair goes which would b a factory first im sure. They do not just dump it out on the beaches and bag it up an throw it out in the water....lol.. They put it thru some kind of process t dry it out really good. So it will absorb better. So its treated and all that stuff with machines.. Now just maybe 100 yrs ago it would b different..

I hope this goes to the national networks and they rebroadcast it several times!! I'd get a buzz myself because I hate having to mess with hair, but I'm female, deal with the public on my job and that would not look professional, though it sure would be cooler!

There are articles stating that Hair won't help as it is only good for shallow waters & land. Well, Isn't that where all this oil Is inevitably going to end up. Wouldn't it be logical to Gather as much hair and make as many Booms as possible BEFORE the Gets There?

PLUS: This Really Needs to be made More Public! Though mentioned in articles from small local news, and a Nonprofit agency a few days ago, Today was the first mention of Hair Helping the Gulf, on NBC Nightly news

Please Help spread the word to All Groomers and Hair Salons. Every bit helps. Thank You!

I'm sure as most hair dressers prefer, hair is Usually washed before clipping. Being that most bathing and washing water inevitably ends up in the ocean, For this incident I wouldn't worry about the hair care products that will end up in our oceans eventually, and work on WHATEVER RESOURSE NECESSARY, to Help Minimize this devestation. So sick of the lame excuses to condone Doing Nothing!

I like this idea...but i wanted to point out that in the article the woman who was soo concerned took her kid for a cut but didn't get one herself...I really do hope this works though and I would like to see it get more attention. Even if we wont be in time for this disaster there will always be another time or place.

I am a barber in Florence. We would love to contribute, what should we do. Packing, shipping, were to, that sort of thing. If I knew something, maybe I could contact other shops around. I love the idea.

This is not new. They have been collecting cut hair from salons for this purpose for well over 10 or longer, years.

Not much use for cut hair for any other thing. They don't use it for wigs or hairpieces. Like I posted earlier, this is not new, they've done it for years now.
