231 Market Security Light Blinding Southbound Traffic

It's much worse during a heavy rain.

You need to fix this and I respectfully ask that you do.

I've no idea if there is or is not any ordinance in the county dealing with patently unsafe and dangerous types of lighting.

Prudence and concern for the motoring public at large would have you putting the light much closer to the road and pointing it at your business in a manner so as to not illuminate 231 or blind traffic on it.

Tonight, during the heavy down pour, I witnessed a near head on accident just north of your store. I shudder to think how close I was to being involved in, or witness to, a head on involving quite a bit of mass rolling towards each other at approximately 50 mph.

I can assure you that your light could easily be proven to have been the majority of proximate cause had there been any damages to property or even loss of life, in any resulting torts.

If such does take place and there are damages, it would be a shame to learn, after the fact, that under the comparative negligence statutes, even a conservative Trousdale County Jury could easily find you 90% or more responsible for any and all damages regardless if there is a county statute specifically addressing such lighting.

It's bad enough that so many night blind people insist on driving with enough lights on to land a squadron of fighter jets and it's inexplicably illegal to hang them for it.

This stationary light is a much simpler matter and I do hope you will remedy this situation before a serious accident happens because of it.

Happy Holidays and let's keep our roads safe.

Do you think a Trousdale county jury would find that store responsible I believe a cops wife works there so the store would win Trousdale county is for Trousdale county.

Yes I do and it wouldn't take much to appeal to the common sense of 12 decent people.

If a cop owns it, then it would be that much more certain as it's would be so much harder to play the "I don't know any better" or "no common sense" card and make it fly.

Common sense is knowing there is no justification for intentionally blinding road traffic with an intense and glaring 300-500 watt light beam.

I bet if one of yours was killed because of it, you'd change your tune real quick like.

Now how about you run along and do something useful with that one million candle power spot light in your truck like blinding oncoming motorists? I bet doing that to semi trucks would be an intense thrill.

That would have to be far more sporting than poaching deer that way.

Are you talking about the Mkt. at the intersection?? If so that's well lit, and a 4-way stop.

Instead of posting this on topix have you contacted the manager or owner of store concerning this manner maybe thay could point the light in another direction. If not, if it poses a
danger contact the Tn Dept of Transportation as this a state rd.Maybe they could take care of it

"231 Market" which is NOT located at the four way.

Nah, I've never patronized the place, have no idea who owns it, don't care and am certain I have zero interest in trying to reason with anyone seemingly missing that many cards out of their deck.

I seldom drive past it and if I had to, I'd likely have already taken care of it myself.

Frankly, I'd think the problem, if it hasn't been rectified, would command the attention of any southbound patrol officer going past it at night.

Especially in wet conditions that don't even have to be a down pour or even actually raining, just wet.

Awwww, why comes I gotsta be a bitch now?

Just doing the right thing is all. It's bad enough the State hands out driver's licenses to night blind people as easily as they do high school diplomas to barely literate inepts, but, there still is no call for idiotically blinding traffic on a road you don't own.
up yup
