Listen guys you need to be careful on saying bad things about some of the old basketball players at Harts. I was proud to play with Scott. He controlled a game like no other and Andy Paul did the same. Both players were great and if you want to bash someone then bash the State BOE for consolidating Lincoln County Schools and thus ending the great basketball games at Hart High School. Both players were the best of the best while others could have played small college basketball with the right guidance. Great players have great stats and they are several old Harts players with great stats, not just Scott and Andy. You may be surprised at the stats of some of the other ones.
Sorry

Bud, you are full of sheet. I watched the game you're taking about and many others and guess what? The alumni often won those games. It was just a scrimmage. Young men playing adults are often at a disadvantage. What's your point? Are you a big man from way back that's jealous of Scott? Scott set the rebounding record for Concord's conference and actually finished college there too. The fact he punched someone in a GV game just makes it all the better. Hey -- that was the year's only loss (24-1) and also GV was not so-so! Stupid fool, they won the championship the next year in '79 so they were pretty good, huh? Those guys playing later didn't have the guts or balls to play like Scott and Co. By far, the best HHS player I saw. No Harts big man comes close, or anyone else either. Just think about it this way all of you alumni out there, and be honest: if you could pick one player from the past and have on your team who would it be? EXACTLY! First pick! Unless you're named Bud and you don't know anything about basketball! lol

Dear Sorry-really I have been rattling the drum trying to get more information on who everyone thinks we're the best players ever at Harts High. Let's pick the all time starting five for our beloved Harts High that no longer exists. Andy Paul, Scott, Ira Moore, Jason Eldridge, and Ritchie Mcann. What is your pick my precious friend? Do you know if Scott averaged more rebounds than any other player in the history of Harts High School? Did Adam Vance averaged more points than anyone else in Harts Lions history? Do you remember Ira Moore? Did Harry press to much? Was Dave Lucas a good coach? What do you think about Jeff Lambert when he played? Was Jason Eldridge to old or not? Please tell me my basketball friend because I would like to know these things. No more BS. Please. Lets be friends.

You are insane. Everybody who played with Andy in that Kermit game will tell you he choked. No one told him to work the ball inside! How stupid! The boys on the floor told him to shoot the damned ball and he kept passing it to other people and wouldn't shoot the ball. Ask anyone who was there -- I heard the boys after the game wonder what the hell happened to their star player???? Yeah, he scored at the end of the game but only did it when the game was over and it didn't matter. What a letdown. Then he went to Marshall and choked even worse -- was booed off of the floor by Marshall fans. I saw it with my own eyes. Heard it. Horrible. Get over it. Scott Fry was the best player at Harts...ever. Scott played on a better team than Andy ever did and he still dominated -- had to spread it around to Jeff Lambert, Gale Moore, Ricky Napier and Norvin Ramey and the rest and he still managed to dominate. There was never a better player at Harts. Doesn't matter what position -- no one played basketball like Scott Fry. Tree dominated. If he had the publicity Andy did he could have played anywhere. Triple doubles, double dribble -- you're an idiot. He dominated the best team Harts ever had. To remember Andy's stats so well you must be Andy! lol. If you think you're going to get on topix and get these old Harts Creekers to sell Tree Man down the river you're crazy! He was the best. Anyone who saw him play will say so. Anyone who played with him will say so.

To Yo Idiot. I seen Scott get dominated by the old alumni team when he was a senior. Big Scott got beat by ten points and fouled out early in the fourth quarter. Harry kicked him in the butt as he was leaving the court. He later went to Concord and averaged about 6 points per game. Later played and got beat by a so-so Guyan Valley team in his senior year where he punched a GV. Player in the face because he was getting his butt kicked on the floor. I WAS THERE and I witnessed it.The only reason you say Andy is not the best is because You Are The Idiot. I know several old Harts players who was a lot better than Scott. Did you ever play basketball? Please share us your story. Don't be shy.
Bud---you are absolutely the smartest Harts Creeker on here...you know your stuff and so does the other people in Harts...Scott had just as many bad games as other Harts Players--6'7" and only averaged 6 points a game in wv conference schools is nothing to brag about.....no one was a Michael Jordan on any of the Harts teams...but we had some good players on all the teams...I enjoyed watching all the players...

I can answer all of your questions. To leave Scott Fry out of your top five shows how absolutely retarded you are. You are not worthy of an answer. I would have to sit you down and give you a long talk about Harts basketball. You have no clue. Just opinions. You also can't spell and have so many grammatical errors I can barely understand what you are writing.

To the person who posts from Branchland and is obviously the biggest jock sniffer wanna be I have ever seen on a high school sports thread: I was also in the locker room for the Kermit game and I know all the players on that team well and I KNOW WHAT WAS SAID before during and after the game by coaches and players. I also have an adult perspective on the game -- I was not a kid riding the bench. The reason you think Andy was the best is you were on his team but YOU WERE ON THE BENCH so you weren't good enough to even play! Glad to know that. You were on the bench waving towels and holding your balls while the real players played. Now I'm going to tell you one more time: I know you didn't play with Scott Fry like you did Andy but he was far better. If you rode the pine with Andy's team, which was an okay team, you wouldn't have even MADE the team in '78. That team was amazing and Scott was unstoppable. Scott never choked -- he brought home the big trophy -- and he never let Kermit upset him in a big tournament game! He took care of business!

You keep citing Scott's scoring average at Concord but leave out the part where he set a conference record for REBOUNDS. He also finished college and taught school and was the best junior high coach Harts ever had. Man, you really have an issue with this guy. He must have bounced you out of a sixth grade class or something. lol

Please describe one bad game that Scott had in '78. Please. Just one. I seem to recall him winning a championship with a lot of help from a VERY GOOD TEAM. I'm curious though, what bad games? Scott was no ordinary player -- he was amazing. You say he had as many bad games as other Harts players, but please prove your point. Can you? Give us details!

For your information his stats are in a trophy case along with Scott Frye's and Jason Eldridge for everyone to see..LOL right back at ya!! So I think that these three AWESOME Harts Creek basketball players have a better life than to get on here and re-live old memories about their "HARTS CREEK STATS"..LOL..Everyone has an opinion and to be honest who really cares!! and nobody is perfect and everyone chokes one time or another...This isn't the NBA playoffs or anything,so please try not to have yourself a heart attack or anything while Andy,Jason, and Scott are busy living their WONDERFUL lives now...Have a Good Day and God Bless!!

Andy Paul Williamson had a lot of talent, but the fact he quit the Marshall basketball team will always leave a dark cloud above his head. Scott Frye played four years at Concord and never was a quitter. Brad Napier played four years at West Virginia State and never was a quitter.Big Scott was the overall best player, the toughest player, the best rebounder, the best shot blocker, and a prolific scorer. Players who quit will never be Number One in my book. They will never be another player who gave his coach a better effort than Big Scott Fyyre. Sorry Andy.

They were some players at the Ville who were just as good as Scott Frye. Big Roger Bartram was as good as they come at Chapmanville. Scott would have a hard time trying to play against Roger. If his son Greg would have stayed at Chapmanville they would have won the Double AA Chapmanville. Greg Bartram was a lot better than Andy Paul Williamson. Greg played and excelled at Penn State University. Go Big Ten.

I actually played against Sott Frye and he was really good . So big for a Single A player and so talented. If Scott could have a vertical of twenty or more inches he would have went Divison One instead of going to Concord. Does anyone actually know why A.P. Williamson quit Marshall to start with. I remember watching A.P on television and really thought he looked good. I truly believe that Scott was the best big man ever at Harts and A.P. was in fact the best guard/poiint guard. My old friends tell me that Jason Eldridge was really to old. Does anyone know the truth?

Sounds like a lot of jealously out there concerning who was the best basketball player at old Harts High School. Everyone knows Andy did in fact start for Marshall as a Freshman, but did quit after playing for a while. Scott played for Concord and set rebounding records that has never been broken. Jason Eldridge was the all time leading scorer, but never made it at Concord. As for me I always thought Scott was the best until I saw Andy Paul play.I still want to say that Adam Vance was a great player for Harts. I really enjoyed watching him play. Some of the other players I enjoyed watching were Jim Brumfield, Nick Parsons, Tommy Thompson, Cecil Mullins, Pete Lambert, Howard Farley,Jeff Lambert, Ritchie Moore, and Ritchie McCann.

The best player ever to play in Lincoln County was Big Edward Bays from old Hamlin High School. Ed went to West Virginia Wesleyan and started for a Championship team in the late 1980's. I am sick and tired of hearing about how Harts Creek had so many great players when in fact they had only a hand full. Go ahead and ask AP. who thumped them when he was a Freshman at Hearts Kreek Hi. All you Harts basketball people are pure idiots. Chris Browning was the second best player ever and Scott Frye was third in my opinion. Two players from Duval named Randy May and Randy Hill round out my top five. Andy Paul Williamson was a great high school player, but choked in college..Jason Eldridge was to old in my opinion, but still played. I have heard just to many things concerning how old he actually was. Actually my number five player was old Kenny Adkins from Harts. Remember this is topix and everyone has their opinion.

Hamlin had so many great basketball players. Heck they had so many great athletes in all sports. I was just wondering how many state titles that great school won Or how many D1 players they had produced? I think the answer would be a big fat ZERO! BAHAHA Come to think of it, they were the only school in Lincoln County not to win a state title! Best Athletes? YEAH RIGHT!

Great players actually do play on teams that never win championships. Like I have already said Big Ed Bays was the Best Big Man ever to play in Lincoln County. If you could see him play you would agree with me. I guess you were still in diapers when Ed was playing College Basketball. He really was better than Scott Frye in college. It's sad that your knowledge of Lincoln County Best Basketball Players is limited to a few players from Harts. Grow up u jerk.

No you are the pure idiot! You came on a thread about the "Best Basketball player to ever come out of the Great Harts High School" and say a player from Hamlin is the best! Ridiculous! If Harts High had only a handful of good players, how do you explain 3 State Championships, 1 state runner up, 10 state tournament semi-finals, 2 state tournament quarter finals, 12 state tournament appearances, 12 regional championships and 29 sectional championships? Need I say More?
