1.First of all there is NO escort business there. A guy that rents an apartment in the building books dancers that go to stags but he has nothing to do with Alfa's. So people stop talking out ur A**
2. I have personally seen the Alfa boys turn drunk people away at the door who were trying to come in from being at other bars. So obviously someone ELSE over-served them and sent them on their way.
3. The Police, well, with a crazy neighbor making UP acquisations, I feel BETTER when I see an officer there. This way the neighbors can't call the police and lie about something going on that isn't
Plus- I know I'm drinking at the safest bar in town!
4. Their food is EXCELLENT and served all night so if you feel like a glass of wine and a great pie or a late nite bite to eat- this is the place.
5. It's a friendly local bar where friends and family meet we have a great time so if you don't like it, don't come back.
So if Alfa's isn't YOUR kind of bar- so be it- it's our Bar, don't come in and for the neighbor who's been doing all the lieing and bit**in- if you can't take the noise- MOVE - Alfa's was here LONG before you were!
yes it is.
1. If he was strictly booking...why would people complain about trashy women walking around
2. right-they do turn people away-the people they don't know and can't be sure won't tell the police about the shady activity going on
3.The Police, well they aren't there 24/7 so they are missing quite a bit.
Safest bar in town if you are a bike riding thug with a gun and a bad attitude
4.just excuse the miscellaneous ashes that are on your plate or the roach bits.
5.I have family that lives on the street behind Alpha and trust me I go the long way to get there. Pigs hanging out on bikes cat calling as I drive by the dive.
Its not a matter of not coming back. I have to much pride to ever step inside that hole
and actually my family lived on Park Ave well before Alpha's came along....when it was down the block just a bit.

Obviously you're an owner/employee/regular of some sort. Your opinion isn't credible.

The place is filled with barflies and dirtbags, but so is the redwood. THe redwood is probably worse. The Star is the worst. The only place where a normal, civilized person can go is the Bridge House. Most people complain about the prices there, but I've always said I'll pay $2 more poer drink to keep a low-rent loser from sitting onthe bar stool next to me.

BTW---Fellas: if you're interested there are a cpl little girls working the bar at Alfa's with some hot little bodies. THe best part: show 'em you got a little loot and a pinch of charm, and they'll give it right up, first night.

If the bar owners aren't responsible for managing the very drunk patron's behavior than who is?

And one questions why a business puts it's energy into attracting grown men who do pee, puke, vomit, use the "F" word loudly and rev their bikes with illegal sawed off pipes at ear deafening levels late at night. School children walk by this establishment, senior citizens live in this neighborhood.

Alfa's does have bathrooms and one would assume they're in working order?

Use INDOOR toilets not the neighborhood. Please respect our community as much as you respect your own, we don't go into your neighborhood to drag race, rev our bikes late at night, puke on your front door or urinate on YOUR place, scream the "f" word all day long into cell phones and much more...

When patrons are urinating outside the bar they are most likely too drunk to drive away...

I think a sound solution is to move this bar business into YOUR neighborhood.

I'm glad to see only two obvious patron supporters even dared to voice their opinions, asinine as they were anyway (not responsible for actions outside their establishment? Is he a professional moron or just an amateur?) and that the majority are for cleaning it up. To be fair though, I have never noticed any type of harrassment as described by others nor any drug activity going on the few times I've been there. They did have a toys for tots drive in the place where they offered drink specials for those who donated, which is always a good thing. I also have no problem with the smoking practices that go on there; if u don't like it, then leave as someone suggested. What bothers me is the obvious payoffs to the police to ignore the smoking. How deep does this corruption run and how widespread is it? Just patrol officers or does Mello and even the mayor get a taste?
Maybe a call to Blumenthal is in order; he loves this stuff!

Check the 2007 Milford yellow pages under Adult Entertainment for escort service ad. Check 2009 yellow pages for listing of service under Adult Entertainment. Or ask homeowners unfortunate enough to live near this establishment what they've seen, heard, and documented. This bar is WELL within 1500 feet of three schools (elementary) and one licensed Day Care Center.
Check CT Post 2001 front page news on "melee" that took place involving be-be guns.
Or come down unannounced and visit the place to see for yourself.
This establishment is documented on paper as being here since 2001.
The "entertainment" business is run out of a rented apartment UPSTAIRS. The apartment is rented by a person, unrelated to the owners of the bar and is rented from the landlord of the building. Why don't you get you facts straight before publishing them. Was the "melee" inside the bar? Why don't you ask any who lives near a bar in Milford or any town what the see or hear? And as far as being shut down check every bar in Milford and every place that sells liquor and compare, it was NOT a underage persone actually drinking alchol.

CTPost archives (see link below) from entire 2001 searcc with "melee' show nothing of the sort, as well as a yellow page search on adult entertainment coming up empty as well. So, yes get your facts straight and be fair. Otherwise dig out your McCarthy buttons.

If you doubt my word on the melee you have a choice to come to CT and check the police file or knock on the doors of neighboring establishments/residents and ask their opinion and some of us have the tear sheet of the front page news story that ran in the CT Post 2001.

I live in Milford (how else could I know about the cops and the police chiefs name unless I did?) and I used what you said to search; Yellow Pages and CT Post. It was your suggestions that provided the doubt when nothing turned up, nothing else. I just meant to provide supportable fact is all, not conjecture, which is what your original search suggestions seemed to bear out.

"This establishment is documented on paper as being here since 2001."

This was a direct quote given by the "Sleepless in Walnut Beach". However, ask around and anyone can tell you that the business has really been in the area since 1980-81. This means that the business has been in the area far longer than most of the residents in the area.

Typically, and I do not believe that this is too critical of a situation analysis, most people do some research about an area prior to living there. My question, is what kind of research did "Sleepless in Walnut Beach" do before moving in.

Upon reviewing my own research, "Sleepless" moved next door to Alfa's, not the other way around. While Alfa's already moved in to this building in 2001, while the neighbor moved in no more than five years ago.

I understand that hindsight is 2020, but you really must do your research on an area before you live there. Stop complaining about how you made the mistake to live next to a bar.

I absolutly love the people at Alfa Pizza. If you have ever really gotten to know the family, you would know that they are some of the most loving and loyal people in the world. No person, under the right circumstances has ever been treated any less than fairly when they enter that restauarant, or bar.
Mr. Alfa is the nicest man in the world, his sons treat everyone like family, and the bartenders are all welcoming and fun to be around, especially Jen. And the cook, Nick, can always be seen greeting everyone with smiles and serving great food.
To all the people at Alfa's, thank you for being around for so long! You guys keep doing what you're doing.

CT Post Archival system is fee based. If you didn't pay fee, story won't come up:

CT POST front page June 6, 2002:
10 arrested in restaurant brawl" story by Aaron Leo

Yellow page add ran in August 2007 page 115, upper top right page.

FYI This issue isn't about just one neighbor complaining.

While you are asking the neighbors about Alfa's, also asked them about this Michael Urban. I have talked to many of his residential neighbors both present and past. They all talk of the on going harrassment at his hand and are sick of it. Calling cops for no reason, moving speakers to his windows facing out and blasting music into the neighbor's house, etc. He is petty and spiteful and needs to go.

Exactly; it should be about the obvious payoffs to the police to ignore the smoking, drinking outside and whatever else, but more importantly is this isolated? If they ignore minor things like this for payoffs, what else are they capable of? I don't want Milford to turn into Bridgeport. I watched that city go to pot for 33 years with corruption and would prefer if it didn't seep into this community.
I think a probe is in order by Blumenthal.

He has nothing to do but sit around and complain. If you wanted peace and quite why did you move next to a bar to begin with? It's the people moving into Milford that are doing all the complaining. This will all be resolved on Thurs- Mike U- why don't you quick claim you deed over to the Alfa's now that you've turn this all into such a big deal and certainly noone will want to purchase your property. As far as the "Entertainment/Escort " business perhaps the person who rents upstairs from the same landlord failed to put his apartment number in his ad. So get a life on that one. Oh, and by the way, the other "poster" is correct Mr. Urban, the majority of your neighbors are calling YOU a kook.

No, I am not an owner, employee and yes I do stop in for a drink now and then. I would NOT go to Redwood, that is drug infested, they serve underage kids and the owner is an idiot, the STAR well he** no. Bridgehouse, a LOVELY please (oh by the way, are YOU an owner or employee?) Unfortunatly the Bridge House is not open when I get home from work so if you live in the area there is a limited amount of choices. And while we're on the subject of bars everyone is trashing Alfa's are we all forgetting the troubles that abound in downtown Milford in the summer? The fights, drug busts and lest we forget the good married Rev. who was doing the young chic in the bathroom, and then he needed a "courtesy ride" home from Milford PD- that was after he PUKED on the officer's shoes... so folks you see, it happens in the "finest" of places. And your comment about the bartenders, non-factual, that makes YOUR opinion non credible.

Wow! It seems that everyone here just loves to whine and complain about what a "shit-hole" Alfa's is, without any real proof. You're all just talking out of your ass because OBVIOSLY most of you have never been in there.
I moved across the street from Alfa's at the end of the summer and have been in there on many occasions. It is a nice neighborhood bar that serves GREAT food. The owners, bartenders, and chef are some of the nicest people I've ever met and are NOT drug dealers or prostitutes. I have taken out of town family and friendsto Alfa's for a bite to eat and a few drinks and they hae all enjoyed it there.
...Yes, they do have once a week Karaoke night, but they DO keep the doors shut. Living across the street I have never been disturbed by any noise that comes from there. I like living near Alfa's because it's a great place eat late at night and for everyone who doesn't like living there, nobody is forcing you to, SO JUST MOVE!
