You see all these articals for record gas prices. Has anyone seen what heating oil is doing? I have and anyone who heats with oil may want to consider applying for a second mortgage loan now, or start putting away money now and alot of it for the upcoming winter.

The only bright spot with gas prices being so high is maybe we won't see as many NYers coming to Squantz Pond. All we can do is keep our fingers crossed.

1 - get used to high gas prices. a year from now, i imagine we will all wish for $4/gal gas... it's only going up 2 - you still pay less than others despite the fact that CT is amongst the highest on the east coast. i pay ~$4.30 per gallon 3 - economics 101 - the government cannot fix the problem of supply and demand. if the government were to subsidize prices (therefore lowering prices to the consumer = you), there would be higher demand because more people would re-increase their driving habits... then with demand back on the rise, the price would rise again and re-settle at $4/gal or wherever it should be. THEN we are stuck with a government that has to tax us to subsidize gas because if they are to subsequently take off the the subsidization, gas prices would instantenously skyrocket to match the artificially high demand. the headline should read: "ignorance is at an all-time high in CT - again."

1997 toyota corolla, ugliest green, with a dent, just gave the old gal a tune up, new theromostat, timing belt, new belts, cleaned the gas lines, oil changes every 3k, new tires, waterpump, new wipers, and new brakes. She's good for another 150k. Did I mention 50 mph hwy and 45 city. Might take her down to pep boys and get her a make up kit this weekend if the weather is good. Yup, she's my baby! about 70 to fill.(today anyhow)

Last time I checked driving was a privledge not a right. If your budget is stretched that thin from a few $$ increase over the years in gas then you should rethink how your making money.

Of course Connecticut has one of the highest gasoline state taxes in the nation. Residents just love more taxes. Keep on taxing them so they can support their social welfare programs. You love the tax me to death state. Good luck with your SUV's soccer moms. Allah loves you moms.
