Bethany- I was done 13 years ago when I worked for a start up Nursing Home company that got hammered by CT DSS Medicaid. I stayed in the CT Nursing Home industry because I really believed change was going to happen and dollars were going to flow back into the CT Nursing Home Industry. Guess what, the dollars never came but bankruptcies, receiverships, recoupments, lies and broken promises came from CT Medicaid DSS. What can they do to me now. They used a newspaper reporter to take down a company and a person I have a whole lot of repsect for. I dont know of anyone in the entire state of CT that has done more for his or her employees of Nursing Homes than Ray. The problem is you just dont know Ray. Ray is not the issue. We at haven were caught up in a severe underfunding of the CT Medicaid System. I have seen it for 16 years. I am honestly speaking out to help some of the remaining owners hopefully get some good out of DSS. I have more knowledge of the inner workings of DSS Medicaid and nursing home finance than just about anyone in the state. I am not afraid to say that DSS Medicaid has created a severe underfunding situation that will eventually cause major problems in Connecticut. CT Nursing Homes have been robbed of needed improvements by CT DSS Medicaid program. The buildings are old. They are in a state of dis-repair. The money that Medicaid should have invested back in 2000-2007 was not invested and now the baby boomers are going to demand better services that quite frankly I dont think the CT Nursing Home Industry will be able to provide. So what will happen, the boomers will go south with the money and get high quality service. The CT economy will continue to suffer, the once "Richest state in the Nation" will fall down hard. Even the Rich folks will look elsewhere. CT medicaid DSS is going to face a nursing home fiscal crisis that it has never seen before. It will take billions of dollars to fix it.....face it, there have been some very bad decisions made on nursing home funding over the past seven years, and CT Medicaid DSS will pay a severe price. I am confident that people will respect me because I have spent the last 13 years in the bowels of the CT Nursing Home Industry and I survived. If you cant handle the truth then reality will hit you hard some day. When it does, call me because even though you insulted me, i will show you how to survive the "DSS Medicaid Nuclear Attach"
Why do you continue to blame DSS when it can only spend what the legislature budgets, do you think that DSS is petitioning the legislature for less money?

Fred, if you have an ounce of self-respect left, you have to admit that Ray should not have drained every available dollar from the homes and left them unable to fund the debt service and ongoing operations. The fact that you continually deny any wrongdoing or mismanagement on Rays part is where you lose the argument.

There are issues with Medicaid reimbursement, but the laws need to change and the legislature needs to appropriate more money and that means raising taxes, so it won't happen. I'm not saying its right, but it is what it is.

If you added up all the debt of Haven and subtracted all the investments the courant has reported about. What is the final #?

Did anyone notice how Freddy boy likes to give praise to Ray Termini? I read earlier in the day he was also stating that Earle Lerner and Chris Wright are great too. Both of them sit on the Board of the Connecticut Association of Health Care Facilities.

Fred has a shady past. He was somehow connected to the failed Lexington Health case which is not taken over by his good buddy Earle Lerner who is one step away from being a Termini.

Then there is the ICARE, hey Fred how were you connected with the old Solomon Homes before ICARE took over and has anyone noticed Chris Wright does not have the ICARE ship going in the right direction at all.

Then his claim to have friends on the CAHCF, interesting how Wright is Pres. and Lerner is VP, to leaders who cannot lead (but that compliments Toni Fatone who is useless).

Didn't he also say he worked for the State or on State projects?

Fred, what are your accomplishments?

Lerner - a bum who very few respect which is why more and more members are leaving CAHCF.

Wright - clueless how to run his facilities, they are the toilet bowl of homes in CT.

CAHCF - a fading group.

Termini - a soon to be felon.

WOW....every body pick on Fred?
If you read (if you are capable of reading) the things he wrote, it all makes sense. You can have a different opinion than Fred, but he lives it and knows all, the rest of you just guess. I think its funny how people pick on Fred, but no one else reveals who they are? The inside mole, the cowards that still get a check from Haven but bad mouth it, the industry "experts" who hide behind ambiguous names, Toni Fatone, etc etc.
At least Fred has the courage of his convictions and is willing to stand by them, as opposed to the idiots who are knocking the place and the people without all of the knowledge.
If you are not willing to let yourself be known, shut up.

Signed....anonomous

Hey Lisa....here's your chance for another award. I'm surprised McCormick didn't leak it to you yet. Marathon and Paragon will have receivers in place by February 15. They will both miss food payments and pharmacy payments in January. Starkowski will say there is not enough evidence of financial disaster as Blumenthal pushes for take-over. Rell will step in and have these facilities taken over. Then, Toni Fatone will stand and take the microphone and declare the state is under communist rule.

I may have no accomplishments, but I am proud to have worked for Haven Healthcare and am grateful to Ray Termini for Hiring me. I think Toni Fatone has done a great job leading cahcf over the years and I hope she sees the day DSS Medicaid stops playing immature games with the medicaid funding.

Chris Wright and Earle Lerner are great owners. They care for residents no one else wants to even though both companies are severly under reimbursed by DSS Medicaid. Thank GOd for owners who put patient care ahead of getting paid fair rates by medicaid in CT. If they didnt we would have about 100 nursing homes in CT not the 220 we have today.

If Chris Wright and Earle Lerner are "great" owners who put patient care ahead of getting paid fair rates by medicaid, didn't you really mean to state that Termini took money before patient care and vendors? Fred now makes sense, my God this is a miracle, Termini did act out of greed.

Lipnicki the subtract button on his calculator says Termini. Think he will ever get a job with a nursing home management team in CT now? I think NOT.
Keaveny, employees and facility managers hate the punk.
To all of the HHC employees who want to work for someone who will respect you, in a later post I will list the telephone number to 3 owners who will be happy to talk to you, listen to your concerns, and I promise will treat you with respect.
If all that you claim is true, which it is not. Are you not guilty as well?? If you are so unhappy with the company, you know where the door is. We don't need that kind of attitude around here. Are you also upset with Fred because he has a calendar and you don't?
