Why does Ct Gov Malloy hate guns ? Is it because he is against civil rights? Well sure, gun rights are the original civil right. Is it because he is racist? Well sure, all gun control efforts in the US have always had a racist component, and the idea to tax guns or ammo out of reach is a pure racist construct of law abiding poor black people that live in risky crime filled neighborhoods having less right to self protection than super rich privileged white people like Blumenthal and Malloy who live in the most crime free places imaginable. But the real reason Malloy hates guns are that whenever you blame the object you make the person blameless. And Malloy’s own son perpetrated an armed home invasion and robbery of his drug dealer who he threatened with a pellet gun he passed off as a firearm 4 years ago. Does that make the son an evil criminal? Sure. Badly raised? Sure. But Malloy pulled all sorts of strings and handed out all sorts of favors and got him no jail time probation for pleading guilty to 1st degree felony attempted robbery and a felony drug charge. Do you need to be connected like Malloy to get that sort of deal? Sure.(source Hartford Courant : look it up). Also, if his victim had owned a gun Malloy’s son might be worm food right now rather than free on the street .
People’s behavior and actions are governed by expectation of consequences. People not so governed are criminally insane. Removing corrective consequences breeds evil people. If you blame evil behavior on inanimate objects (like guns or drugs) you incubate bad behavior and evil. And if you reward and validate evil behavior with endless fame and attention, as the media does for stranger gun killings with a certain body count, then you incubate an endless cycle of escalating incidents as a guaranteed pathway to TV fame. Guns to blame? No. Is an attitude promoting no responsibility for actions like Malloy practices to blame? Sure. Is the guarantee of limitless fame for evil behavior which the media dangles in front of demented people to make a buck to blame? You bet.
