Joe Neff, Bar Owner Missing in OK Since May 13, 2009 Found...

Blood and signs of a struggle were discovered at his business. Also, police found that thousands of dollars in cash had been taken from a safe in his home.

Joe was the best person I knew. I know right now he would say to "hang tight, whoever committed this horrible crime will get what they deserve, just wait and watch," He has given me that advise often. Joe Neff was a kind and decent man and would have given anyone the shirt off of his back. Whoever done this horrible crime to him will pay.. to bad they don't still hang people because I would love to see that happen to the coward that took Joe away from his family and friends.

I am hoping that "noname" was sending that message to the killers and not the family. Because that would be such a horrible thing to do to a grieving family. I pray each day that God will show the OSBI who did this horrible act to such a loving man. I hope that noname will explain theirself.

Was Joe a veteran? Did he belong to the American Legion or anything? I notice the entire area out there has a large cluster of American Legion Posts. Poteau, Heavener, Wister.

I have never heard that before. My answer would be no, but I can do some checking. I am willing to do anything I can to at least find an end to this nightmare. If he was a member, what exactly does that mean? What do they do? I have heard of it before, but have never cared to question about it? tell me more Jimmy

I would love to answer your question.

There are 3 classifications for a veteran. Combat Veteran, a Veteran who served during Combat but didn't go to the "Theatre."
And, a veteran who served during peacetime, which there hasn't been much of that latley. The Veterans of Foreign Wars,(V.F.W.), The Disabled American Veterans,(D.A.V.) both require that you were "in theatre" in order to join. You have to have a combat ribbon designated by Congress. Congress set up the by laws for these institutions. The American Legion fits into the catagory of 'combat era.' My wife was in service during Viet Nam but never left the states. She was allowed to join the american legion based on that. "Combat era," is the minimum requirement to join. All of these Non-Profit orginizations also have sub groups who can join. Ladies Auxillary, Sons of American Legion, etc.

How does this relate? I don't know. It's just something that should be considered if you hit a dead end. It's just a theory of mine. But, there are at least 3 murders of woman who seem to fit this catagory, found very close to an American Legion. There are a number of unsolved murders of men also. I don't know the mans name, but it was a case off of the OSBI website of a man who left his home in ADA, Ok., where there is an American Legion Post, and his body was found in Lake Tishomingo, if that's what it's called. That lake has two American Legion Posts on it. Again, I am sorry for your loss, and at least this is all food for thought for you.

All of these organiztions are for the benefit of the Veteran. The dues that are paid by eligable members goes to support "Service Officers' who are trained in getting a veteran his or her benefits. And locally, they provide service to the community and the veteran in times of need, such as burial. They have teams of men on the committees who see to it that local vets who die are provided with an Honor Guard, etc. There also is accidental death insurance for members, usually 500 dollars.

One of the things all of us are facing in this country right now is the large scale release of prisoners and the loss of Law Enforcement.

Here in Michigan, 2000 Law Enforcement has been laid off, and it is said it could go as high as 4000. It's happening all over the country.

that is scary huh? i did double check on the american legion thing and i was correct. he was not in it. he was in the army national guard early 70's but he seved his time and bacame an iron worker/welder and continued his whole life. i appreciate any input. keep up on the stories and if you think of anything good let me know. i have emailed everywhere to air the story. good morning america 20/20, amer most wanted, 48 hrs mystery, even dr phil, i need his case out there, i am not giving up, EVER. thank you jimmy
