Letters: Why did Obama deserve Nobel?

Full story: blogs.usatoday.com

Qasim Rashid of Richmond, Va., said: "President Obama has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, and I wonder whether Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Saudi King Abdullah, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and other Muslim leaders will take notice? There are a few things they could learn from the U.S. president, who accomplished in nine months what they couldn't in decades of leadership ..."

Obama accomplished NOTHING, so the only thing these leaders learned is that the Nobel Prize has become a European political tool.

He was nominated within the first 12 days of him becoming president..... it should be based upon all his ACHIEVEMENTS up to that date... NOT after the fact .... and honestly ... he has achieved and done nothing but held a few talks with some political leaders....

He has NOT stopped any wars,... he has not done any peace agreements... he has not stopped any nuclear powers ridding themselves of these arms....

So what actually has he achieved ???? Yes i am not a Citizen of the USA.... but honestly .... there where a heck of a lot of others who deserved it way more than him for what they have done over years ..... not 12 days.

Oh and did you know that Hitler was nominated in 1939 for the same prize????

I don't see why the Nobel committee decided to give Obama the peace prize even as they never gave it to the one man who truly deserved it, Mahatma Gandhi.

Their apparent explanation was that 'he was involved in petty politics', but isn't Obama a plain politician too.

How can caucasian turn to Muslim? These caucasian try to give courage to Obama for his peace idea, such as no nuke world. Even tough he idea not become reality, his idea need to give courage. Beside all peace noble are controversial, except Ghandi and Mother Theresa.

Daily Horoscope for December 6

Capricorn

You're in a very generous and kind frame of mind today, and you'll go out of your way to help others if you think they need it. You might donate some money to a good cause or decide that charity begins at home. If you're buying gifts for some of your loved ones it will be difficult to know when to stop, because you could easily get carried away.
