I hope you all are not baiting these deer just for hunting purposes. That is very cruel if you are and illegal.

Nope! Baiting or feeding deer is not illegal. Hunters do it everywhere. I thought it was illegal too until resently, and found out differently. I think it should be illegal. However; once you feed or bait deer an an area/field, you can not hunt wild turkeys in that same area/field. It is illegal to feed and bait wild turkeys.

baiting is legal..info for you tree huggers...baiting is a good method...dont just assume that everyone shoots every deer they see...baiting allows you to get deer in close to see the deer..if its healthy..if its something you decide to take..rather than seeing a deer 50 to 100 yards away and unloading your rifle on it...i am not much of an rifle hunter anyway....people around here do rack hunt...a lot of people depend on deer in there freezer...its cheaper than beef and healthier...not all them steriods and antibiotics in the deer..which you eat in beef...so your eating the antibiotics,,your body gets immune to it..so when u get sick the medicine u take is useless.

It's not hunting if you know where the animal is going to be, and you have trained it to have a sense of calm in the area. That is just idiotic.

if you think thats cruel just think about the next steak you eat and how that cow was run in a shoot and a plunger stuck to its head and killed, at least deer have a chance, just think about it next time you eat chicken and how they are killed their heads pulled off and left there flopping on the ground. deer meat is pure, your beef has steroids to fatten them up then chemicals to keep the meat fresh. so dont come on here talking crap about deer hunting dont knock it until you've tried it

Animals killed in slaughter houses die instantly (usually by electrocution). I've had deer meat, and there is nothing special about it. I'd rather eat an animal I know didn't suffer than one who bled to death because some redneck didn't make a good shot.

i see you've never been to a slaughter house most are run in a shute their head claped between to rails so they cant move and a plunger gun stuck to their head and shot. only about half die instantly some have to be shot again, some have a chain put around their leg and drug across the slaughter house floor still alive and hung upside down. now thats real humane, i know i worked at the one in danville 30 years ago

I've raised beef cattle and taken them to slaughter houses my entire life. It is much better to have them killed with an air gun then shot by some idiot who might not even find the deer, and let it bleed to death over the course of half an hour. What is even more ridiculous is when that idiot wants to cut off the head of a deer he has baited and put it on his wall like a trophy. But I guess some guys have to grasp at anything they can to make themselves feel more manly. Kind of like Eddie Montgomery shooting a caged bear and bragging about it.

you are about as full of shit as your farm is ive seen farmers let sick cows lay out in a field and suffer for two or three days till it died then drag it back in a holler and leave it. and if the deer population isnt controlled and starts getting dieases then your precious cows will get it. actually hunters are doing farmers favors by deer hunting they eat up crops. 10 deer can destroy 10 acres of soybean in a matter of weeks same with corn, alfalfa, and your garden next to your house by the way watch the video on my last post then tell me which is more humane
